@NotATeslaApp There are several milestones in Elon’s new pay package that are based on consumer purchases. I don’t think they’d put that much effort into defining those milestones and getting it approved, just to abandon the consumer market

There are a lot of disappointed Tesla fans lately. Most of it seems to stem from the robotaxi network, the discontinuation of the Model S/X, FSD going subscription-only, the FSD transfer fiasco, among other events. Is Tesla giving up on the consumer market? Is the magic gone?

@StevieC22534754 @OGMarsLife It’s not the speed itself , it’s that Tesla has the wrong speed limit on 50% of the miles I drive. The ratio could be great but sucks if your starting point is wrong

Tested FSD 14.2.1 Speed Profiles from MadMax to Sloth, on 65 MPH freeway. Here are the results: - MadMax when to 79 (14 miles over) and stayed in passing lane - Hurry dropped down to 75 (10 miles over) - Standard dropped it further down to 69/70 (4/5miles over) - Chill dropped to 67 (2 miles over) - Sloth dropped to 63 (2 miles under) Verdict: I prefer Standard on freeways and MadMax in city. @chuckcook @DirtyTesLa @mikepat711 @aelluswamy @Tesla_AI

Please @aelluswamy @elonmusk bring back manual speed controls until you use good map data and/or it can read and understand signs much better. Right now, if the car thinks the speed limit is 55 but it's actually 35, even Sloth wants to go 55. Inversely, if the car thinks the speed limit is 35 but it's actually 55, even Mad Max won't go fast enough. We have no way of adjusting, so in these two scenarios we have to turn off FSD for no good reason. We want to help you improve the system, so let us help. Give us a way to report incorrect speed limits. If we manually adjust the speed, send that to the mothership and if it happens in the same spot over and over, it should learn.

@Teslarati The main thing I use CarPlay for and the main thing missing from Tesla is group messaging. 90% of the messages I get are in groups and I can’t respond because Tesla sends the response directly to the sender instead of the group

@chuckcook @Tesla_AI Another “solution” would be to let the “supervisors” change the speed limit instead of having an offset. Then the speed profiles can react to that speed limit appropriately. As a bonus, capture the speed limit modification for crowd sourced speed limit updates or training data

@chuckcook @pduan The best part is no part is only true if you can get the job done without it. And until you can get all of the speed limits right, you aren’t getting the job done. If you want me to supervise, give me the tools to do it. And collect the data for when the car is overridden.

@pduan in the release notes you mention "behavior" with the profiles .. can you say if the profiles change behavior other than speed? For example, will it shoot smaller gaps in traffic, or roll stops differently, or anything else like that? Or is it just speed? Inquiring minds are trying to figure this out.

@teslascope Elon previously said that hw3 was “perfectly fine” so I don’t think anyone knows either way. My personal opinion is that the front facing camera does not have enough resolution to read highway speed limit signs at distance, leading to missed signs when close enough, but occluded

Let's discuss what was shared about Full Self-Driving during today's Tesla earnings call and hopefully dispel misconceptions we've already seen circulating. 1️⃣ HW3 Upgrades Today, Elon communicated that the HW3-equipped vehicle would need to be upgraded to support Unsupervised driving capabilities. Elon and Tesla did NOT specify that this would be an upgrade to HW4 or any specific computer. Elon has previously shared that the existing cameras on older vehicles would be "perfectly fine", which helps reduce the labor hours and costs required for each upgrade. However, it should be noted that the side repeater cameras are notoriously easy to swap out, so upgrades are feasible from a logistical standpoint but are just not guaranteed. This matches Elon's chosen wording of "HW3 computer". Elon alluded to this upgrade being "painful," which we assume is based on the labor hours and potential BOM (bill of materials) needed for each vehicle. 2️⃣ How about subscriptions? When Tesla introduced an upgrade path from HW2.5 to HW3 for Model 3 and legacy Model S and X vehicles, it was priced at $1,500 for those without Full Self-Driving. Shortly after, the cost was reduced to $1,000. With the launch of this upgrade path for HW3, we suspect Tesla will treat it similarly. First, we believe Tesla will prioritize vehicles that purchased FSD. Then, within 4-6 months, subscribers will be able to upgrade via a paid option starting at around $1,500-$2,500. 3️⃣ Unsupervised in Texas and elsewhere? During the call, it was announced that Unsupervised Full Self-Driving would launch in June this year as a "paid service" in Austin, Texas. Like other services, such as Waymo, we believe Tesla will launch in Austin as an initial location to determine needed improvements and gather feedback from the local community. We expect, especially once the launch date occurs that we will see more active communication from @Tesla_AI and other teams within Tesla as they share their outlooks for expanding to other states and regions in the following years.

@jcenzov @chuckcook @Wise_Crackr @Tesla Tesla doesn’t have dealerships, which are owned by different entities from the manufacturer. Service Center is where you buy and service Tesla vehicles. A lot of people don’t care about that distinction and call them Tesla dealers anyway.

@Someoneguy19 @AlphaLackey @BR_OpenIce I had the same thought before I realized they were short. Losing the faceoff down a man with 42 seconds left is a loss because they play keep away. So there’s no extra risk. There’s only reward, even if the chances are minuscule

@DirtyTesLa The issue is it’s “the boy who cried wolf” problem. The car phantom slows so often, that now I’m trained to hit the accelerator to push it through. If I didn’t see the deer, I’d have probably pushed the accelerator and forced it to hit it

I know no one else ever makes mistakes, but I was looking farther down the road wondering where our upcoming turn was. FSD was on and started applying the brakes and my exact thought process is above. Then I saw the blur jump in front of me. Probably would have hit if manually driving.

Hey @elonmusk, hit a snag with my #Cybertruck—the 2nd delivered in NYC! Love the car. Just months after getting it, @GEICO dropped my coverage, saying they won't insure CTs anymore. Struggling to find an insurer after 5+ brokers turned me down. Can't drive it and also can't sell it due to the 1-year restriction. Any advice on what I can do here? @Tesla @cybertruck @TeslaMotorsClub @TOCNYS

@ElectrekCo @SCOOTERDOLL Consumer Reports is total BS. FSD does everything BlueCruise does, does it better, and then adds functionality on top. I have both systems and BC is not even close to FSD. The only thing BC has is hands off, but I’ve had to override too many times to trust it
