@Benji_Boop @TallbarFIN But I with the Bachelors of Arts degree I paid for knew better than to try and read a linguistic idiom literally, which is also what asking for a refund on a free degree is, btw.

@Benji_Boop @TallbarFIN This was a tongue in cheek way of criticizing the British and other western allies of delaying their opening of a western front in the war. They were content to allow Russians to die to deplete Germany before they would enter the fight.

@Benji_Boop @TallbarFIN You not understanding a perfectly legible comment is not my problem. I’ve heard your education is free in Europe, perhaps ask for a refund.

@AnonymousProph @TallbarFIN Yeah well, it's my third language, what about you? I guess English *is* your first language, otherwise you wouldn't really make that jab, and yet you can't write worth shit. Other people not understanding what the fuck you were trying to say isn't the flex you think it is.

Refusing to allow the use of European airspace to go after a shared enemy is unacceptable. This is not participation in the operation in any meaningful sense. And they can't even do that. It's a time for choosing: will Europe align with the US bloc or the China/Russia/Iran one?
The Reagan Caucus@NewReaganCaucus

European leaders don't realize that half the US conservatives who support Ukraine and NATO are alienated by petty showmanship like France not letting our military fly in their airspace.

I think a lot of folks don't realize how valuable America's alliance system has been to America. Trump has spent his 2nd term trashing it. Countries relied on us, and so were willing to do us favors. All of that is disappearing in the flames of Trump's ignorance and ego.

Marco Rubio: “If Europe won’t allow us to use the bases we man and fund for their defense when we need them — we ought to close them down and remove our troops from Europe.” Europe’s response to being threatened: Spain: airspace closed. Italy: Sigonella denied. France: airspace closed. Switzerland: airspace closed. Poland: no missile batteries. UK: not our war. Canada: never. Germany: no. Japan: officially no. Australia: no. Rubio is threatening to pull troops from Europe. Europe already pulled the welcome mat.

Trump promised us “America First.” What we got is America Alone. He's isolated us from our allies, weakened our global standing, and left us standing solo on the world stage. This isn't strength. This is self-sabotage. #AmericaAlone 🇺🇸

Hegseth indicates reopening the Strait of Hormuz is not a core US objective: "We've been willing to lead, President Trump has led the entire time, but it's not just us. You might want to start learning how to fight for yourself."

Since NATO was founded in 1949, the US has been involved in 20+ military conflicts — more than all other NATO members combined. Korea. Vietnam. Grenada. Panama. Gulf War. Somalia. Iraq. Afghanistan. Libya. Syria. Now Iran. Most of these weren't NATO operations. They were American choices. And now the US — currently at war alongside Israel against Iran — is demanding Europe contribute more to "collective defense." Defense of what? American foreign policy decisions Europe never agreed to? NATO is a mutual defense pact, not a blank check for endless American wars in the Middle East.

NATO is a defensive alliance. If you are a member and want support of the other members of the organization your request has to meet the criteria of an Article IV or Article V. Article IV is a mandatory request for consultation if a member believes their security is threatened. Any country can ask for this an everyone else has to sit and listen. This request has happened many times. For example, Turkey requested consultation after Syrian shells killed 5 civilians. Article V is a request for support if you have been attacked. Nations are obligated to help but their level of support is up to them. In general, this applies only to attacks in the North Atlantic area. The Falklands, famously, did not apply. The ONLY time Article V was implemented was on 9/11 and NATO responded immediately. In fact, NATO AWACS aircraft responded within days to help with air policing. Canadian The critical thing is that NATO member support starts with a formal request. They don't just show up. You have to make a request. It's also important to note that the Supreme Allied Commander is an American. We lead NATO. If NATO isn't responding, that's our fault.

This is not the answer. Reminding them how much they rely on us, yes, but evicting the United States from RAF bases is a terrible idea. This administration won’t last forever.
Andrew Fox@Mr_Andrew_Fox

The correct answer is to follow France, Spain and Italy’s example in regard to use of airspace, and issue notice on Lakenheath, Mildenhall, etc. It is time to take the Americans at their word. We cannot entrust any part of our defences to the USA.
