This is not advice. This is a 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴 dressed up as a citizen appeal.
Every single ask hits the same three pressure points — 𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘅 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄, 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀. The exact three things that bleed India when global energy markets explode.
The PM doesn't say this kind of thing on a normal Tuesday.
Something is moving in the world. Iran. Hormuz. Russia. Something is about to crack — and Delhi is locking the doors before the storm hits.
When Modi speaks like this, the smart money listens.

Talked to a friend in Germany. He is saying fuel prices have gone 40% high. We have entitled folks who curse the government despite it tried to absorb price fluctuations. Such entitlement is extraordinary.

I am always in favour of public transport, even in normal times
But, India is not a public travel friendly country. You might take the metro, but the road to reach the metro station is full of hawkers, dug up roads, political banners.
Mumbai is not a walkable city. Even though most people walk.
We have not invested enough to make public transport attractive in normal times for us to rely on it during difficult times.

No. This is an idiotic argument. PM is not a common man. PM's time is more expensive than yours. His security can't be compromised. He needs to take care of 20 ministries, 50 high-intensity projects, and 30 critical meetings pertaining to national interests. His efficiency is important. So don't compare yourself with PM. Yes, he has appealed. This is not a decree. Only a request. If any other head of state had done it, countrymen follow in the interest of nation. This is not politics. If you don't, tomorrow fuel prices will be increased and that will cost to your pocket only. Then you can continue driving your 6 kmpl German car at ₹120/ltr.

I will continue to stack Gold, will do more road trips in my German petrol SUV which gives 6kmpl, will travel abroad at least 2-3 times a year (one already done this year), call all my staff to office everyday (canceling hybrid model). I'd like to first see him & entire cabinet fly in commercial airline, travel in single car (no convoy) while not blocking the roads and using Indian car. Also, he must stop going abroad himself first.

If given the choice, many people would choose WFH over going to the office any day, especially in this heat, traffic, pollution, and the daily struggle of even getting a cab on time. This is even more true in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, etc.
But because the suggestion is coming from a political party or more precisely from PM Modi, suddenly there’s so much “sacrifice”, “anti-work”, and outrage narrative being peddled online.
Ironically, the same influencers and YouTubers who comfortably monetize content while sitting at home will gaslight white-collar employees, people who would genuinely love WFH, just because the suggestion came from Modi.
That’s when you realize a lot of internet political discourse isn’t about principles at all, it’s just tribalism and team politics.

1. Biggest win is in West Bengal. Within 10 years look how far BJP has gone from 3 to nearly 200
2. Retaining Assam with even higher number of seats with no signs of anti incumbency.
