Things I've learned/remembered from last time on Twitter: 1. Read. Reflect. Respond. 2. Everyone's fighting their battles. most of them are private. Be kind. 3. Argue the view, respect the viewer. 4. Spend 80% of a pre-date shower washing your bum. 5. Dog vids > cat vids (still!)

@ayaprivee May sound silly, but almost definitely Vancouver Island overall. I might consider northern Italy but would want to visit first to be sure, lol

@BcTall @devvinggold @Pivot2Centre Do you know how percentages work? The median is right in the middle. So 50% will be above the median and 50% will be below you fucking clown.

@sedelange @thisisnew_me1 OK, stop right there bub.... "imported 100 million"???? Huh? (I mean, that's actually LOW considering EVERYONE in the US who's not Native American is an immigrant, but TOTAL since 1920 is ~94M) But go on & blame everyone else. Surely its their fault, never yours...

I worked 50-60 hours a week for years. Built our own house with my wife and father. Saved to buy cars. One income was never enough to cover everything. The women’s lib movement increased available worker by 50% thus depressing the growth substantially. The same wage suppression is happening because we have imported 100 million 3rd world immigrants and their off spring. Add the overspending by government and the accompanying inflation due to borrowing and you get the situation we all experience.

Boomers ask why we don’t go to church, join clubs, or know our neighbors. We work 50 hours a week. Commute 2 hours a day. Spend what’s left on rent. They had evenings. They had weekends. One income covered enough to leave room for everything else. We have two incomes & no time

@Shawn61966184 @devvinggold @Pivot2Centre They're also 1/10th the population. I mean, c'mon. The US is 3rd largest country by pop & size and largest by GDP (last I checked). Of course they can host all this stuff. And YET US also has greater % living below 50% median income. Not a great stat to showcase wealth IMO

@devvinggold @Pivot2Centre Australia and Canada are big first world countries. They could not come close to achieving that.

@TERA1PATRICK IMO its a good summary of the South in general (regarding extroversion & other obs). I've lived in 3 of the 4 corners (+ IN) and I think its a pretty fair summary of the US South lol! But what you say about "Europeans" is dead-on accurate!

@BcTall @Cycle_Point @fredo_4k @lilybrodi And if you’re searching up “is tim hortons the 3rd largest in the us”, make sure to ask “what about Dutch bros” as the google AI is prone to hallucinations from old info.

@MlleNela Rooting for Senegal - they're ranked lower so I always love the underdogs (nothing against France, but they are a powerhouse!). Rooting for all the smaller nations, honestly!

Ready for France VS Sénégal ⚽️☺️ The funny thing about both teams is that they’re basically same difference🤣 I’ll be happy regardless of the outcome and will be watching Sénégal performance closely. Who do you think will score first?

@alyxchi Seriously, that's a talent! If I went to an art-themed outing, I'd be such a fish out of water, lol! (and as @lilyyue_com already said: you ARE cool!)

CORAS has grown faster than I ever imagined, and we're finally building the kind of peer-led, trauma-informed, PRACTICAL support I wish Ottawa had years ago. I'd happily bankrupt myself continuing, but my wallet is starting to file labour grievances. If you've ever wanted to support community care, this is a really good place to do it. 💙🩵
C.O.R.A’S@corasottawa

CORAS is growing, and we could really use your help. 🩵💙 As our client base grows and the need for crisis support increases- especially with the summer heat and the rising cost of living- so do our operational costs. We're working hard to expand our services, but we can't do it without our community behind us. We finally have our office space, and with the addition of an SUV (generously bought by our director), we're working toward launching a community outreach and crisis support vehicle program to help us bring services DIRECTLY to those who need them most. We also want to patrol high foot traffic areas to ensure the safety of those out on the streets in these increasingly dangerous nights, and lessen police intervention. With enough funding, we're also hoping to begin offering housing support in the near future, optimistically a safe home for unhoused workers. Right now, we're especially in need of:
• Direct financial support • Women's and children's clothing
• Non-perishable food and snacks
• Grocery store gift cards for immediate crisis support
• Art supplies, board games, and family activities
• For the kids, a used TV, and even Xbox Series S controllers and gift cards (we were generously donated an XBOX console for the children who visit our office for our childcare program, but have no way to set it up just yet)
• Condoms (latex, non latex, female), dental dams, and lubricant for harm reduction and sexual health support • Pads and tampons, and first aid kits As our staff is entirely volunteer based and does not take a salary, every single donation goes DIRECTLY to those in need and provides immediate, practical support to sex workers, survivors, and their families in our community. Please help us help those who have been so under-served for far too long ❤️.

My World Cup bracket is pretty simple: if your country was colonized by them, I'm definitely rooting for you. 🤷🏼‍♀️⚽ My World Cup wish is that every formerly colonized nation beats its former colonizer. Consider it 90 minutes of historical payback with a scoreboard. 😌🍿⚽ 😂🌎🏆
