@hr_unhinged What kind of psychopath takes the stairs and doesn't do it to prove they're as fast as the lift?

Someone took the stairs to the fourth floor today instead of the elevator. I checked the security footage. It was a junior copywriter, walking up the steps at a leisurely, non-urgent pace. I waited by his desk for him to arrive. When he finally sat down, I asked why he bypassed the high-speed vertical transport provided by the company. He panted slightly and said he’s trying to get his step count up. I told him that converting company time into personal cardio is a form of wage theft. The elevator takes exactly 12 seconds. The stairs took him nearly 2 minutes. He argued that he came in early so it didn’t cut into his hours. I reminded him that early time is still company time, it’s just unbilled. I documented “unauthorized biometric optimization” in his permanent record. Then I deactivated his stairwell key fob.

@fpl_tactician 0% chance this happens, unless Arsenal beat us. Pep will lock in the 11 more or less for rest of the season Southampton and injuries aside

The atmosphere at The Emirates was flat on Saturday. What happened to the fervour that greeted the Liverpool team bus when they were in title run-ins? Is it an Arsenal problem? Is it title anxiety? Or has the Premier League priced fervour out of the game? dailymail.co.uk/sport/football…

We’ve added Expected Goals Assisted (xGA) to player profiles across all big-5 leagues. xGA measures the quality of chances a player creates. We split it into open-play xGA and set-piece xGA. Guess who leads in open-play xGA per 90 this season?

@9320pod Opta still only has us at around 7-8% chance to win the league. Feels like we need to break Arsenal mentally to have a chance - even more reason why today and next Sunday are must win.

Even putting aside their trip to the Etihad, don't think Arsenal are going to win all their remaining league games. Our game today is huge in terms of psychology and momentum going into the game next weekend. Win and it completely changes the complexion of the run in.

@joellikesthis I think people are just desperate to wrap a full narrative around anything when only a half narrative fits. Yes, clubs react to how the league is evolving (and some predict/get lucky better) but no club reacting a singular other club - 19 other teams in a league not 1.

@Gudge62 @DominicMcGregor Double lock is problem without that too as wage rises often lag inflation by a year. So large inflation means a large bump in SP in 2 consecutive years. Just need to choose one metric.

The most stupid debate here, is that when we have a recession. And we will soon. State pension will increase 2.5%. If that recession lasts two years, the state pension will increase by 5.06%. If it takes 2 additional years to return to the economic start of the recession (as in 2007/8) will have increased 10.4% That would be an economic disaster.
Dominic McGregor@DominicMcGregor

I’m 32 years old and I want to change the state pension. With the triple lock, based on historical growth (4.5%) when I reach my pension age. The state pension will be £30,100 a year. This would account for £512bn a year. The current government budget is 1.2Trn. This would be 3x the current NHS budget. The triple lock is unsustainable. Now the debate, no one is saying that pensioners shouldn’t recieve support. That goes without saying. But there shouldn’t be a non-means tested, non contribution based pension which gives everyone blanket support. Especially when you consider 1 in 4 of over 60 years are asset millionaires. My view is, we need to have a means tested only state pension. Which is reassessed every 3 years. There is no “pot” people pay into, national insurance is just a tax - there is no ring fenced fund for a state pension. It comes directly from taxation ever annum. Without changes like this, young people will suffer while older people - who receive their pension and political protection because they actively vote - will continue to have a glorious quality of life.

@lukestanley03 I dunno, I think not. Arsenal would still need to drop 4 more points from 6 games outside of ours. Possible, but unlikely
