@BrainstemMd @RenzPolster Do you have any thoughts on the study that found parasympathetic hyperactivation in response to effortful inspiratory flow limitation in UARS patients using Hilbert-Huang transform? pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC56…
Natalie@nataliezzz3

@TWestphalia @chydorina Or maybe not an artifact exactly...I forget how they explained it. @reggylong @kanishkvashisht maybe you can remind me what you were trying to explain to me about the study that found increased parasympathetic activity during inspiratory flow limitation in UARS patients?

@nataliezzz3 @RenzPolster Do I have any thoughts about that? Sure, dive reflex. I’ll have a closer look at the paper tomorrow, everything in the figures is that type of analysis I do daily. Then I design app around my favorites.

@nataliezzz3 @RenzPolster My pulse wave amplitude (PWA) trace during 10 minutes deep sleep and 10 minutes REM sleep, and Oxyring SpO2 during REM stage. Very clear how the PWA trace tracks sleep disordered breathing.

@DrRyanC @DocKeiser This is exactly my experience with cardiologists and dysautonomia. And I ask them…”what is the number 1 cardiac med?” And they all say B blocker! And I say…that’s an autonomic nervous system med! lol

@DocKeiser And suggests the autonomics are failing by reduced sympathetic tone leading to dysautonomia like POTS and inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The cardiologists work folks up and then say we don’t know and put them on a b-blocker and say good luck!

Not all POTS comes down to connective tissue. If someone can raise diastolic BP when upright, they can generate vascular tone. That shifts the issue from “structural limitation” to “regulation problem”—which is often more dynamic and treatable. #POTS #Dysautonomia #EDS

@DrRyanC @tessfalor But there is a lot of technical research that I have done to get to this point. IBI is interbeat interval, PWA is pulse wave amplitude

@DrRyanC @tessfalor Yes agreed, the endothelial markers are very interesting. Check out Stefanovska bands if not already familiar. And of course, this is all in development. To be able to perform daily/nightly analysis of endothelial markers has never really been done. Measured by IBI or PWA data

My sleep last night. The full sleep Hilbert transform and vascular endothelial analysis which is my favourite, can see phasic/tonic REM substage. The ability to quantify deep sleep VLF thermo oscillation is gold. @DrRyanC @tessfalor

@DrRyanC @DrJesseMorse 1 month natto dropped my resting HR 10 bpm, felt awesome. Doing a study on myself using natto over the next few months.

@DrJesseMorse Love nattokinase. Had a patient whose period was doubled because of how effective the anti coagulation is! :) powerful thanks for sharing

@jorgensenmc1 @pausedME Right!? There’s such a place for this tech to be integrated and pick up on the changes in the nervous system before they manifest as disease! 🦠 the true prevention.

Why is the view so widespread that PEM in #MECFS cannot be demonstrated objectively? There are so many metrics that can show it. Of course, one can always claim it is due to a lack of motivation, on a subconscious level. So in that respect, things are slowly improving.

I didn’t even recall that i had apple health running. 2 months ago I was reading up on the phosphocreatine system and fatigue so i decided to try GAA/creatine in combination with a keto diet. I tried them separately before with only minor incomplete improvements for my situation. I caught the results with apple health .

I love the folks that I get to meet on @X
Jason@BrainstemMd

@DrRyanC @tessfalor Well it’s nice to meet a physician that appreciates the value of superior wearable data and analysis. I can build you a custom app, website, patient dashboard, custom analysis, and provide autonomic and vascular assessment no other device in the world can provide.

@BrainstemMd @tessfalor This looks so cool! I'm excited. One of the big barriers i've experienced in private practice is no place like this to allow patients to share their data and help physicians engage with it at point of care to make the much needed decisions with actionable, objective data!

@DrRyanC @tessfalor Lots to discuss in here, and there is lots more in this app already, lots more to build. There is an AI agent built in so users/physicians can chat about the data.

@DrRyanC @tessfalor Yes for sure let’s talk. I will share a few interesting graphs from the ring shortly. The very slow vascular oscillations during deep sleep are fascinating.

@sowmay_jain @laukiantonson The analysis is the easy part. Getting full genome sequencing down to a price that people will pay, and prove the code has enough value for each individual, is the hard part.

i got my whole genome sequenced two years ago and forgot about it. last week i told my ai agent (@laukiantonson) to dig up my DNA files • it dug up a two-year-old email • found the download link • pulled down 67 gigabytes of raw DNA. • rented a 32-core, 64GB machine for a few hours — total cost: $5 • aligned 21 million long reads to the human reference genome — 99.83% mapped • called 5.8 million genetic variants using a two-pass neural network • phased every variant — separated maternal vs paternal inheritance • annotated all 5.8M variants against ClinVar, PharmGKB, and gnomAD • corrected for population-specific bias in the medical literature • health risk map across 39 conditions flagged in every body system • drug compatibility guide for 141 medications color-coded by genome response • nutrient metabolism - 71 variants affecting absorption of vitamins, minerals, iron • traits, ancestry going back 40,000 years, neanderthal DNA breakdown $5 in compute. 8 hours. no bioinformatician. no doctor. just one instruction. we've genuinely reached a point where an ai agent can take your raw genome and hand you back a full personal health profile in a single shot. i had no idea this was even possible.

I woke up tired today and had to come home from work. First thing in the morning I did a stand test with the new app I am working on, data from a ring, app, and built in AI agent to discuss your results. My normal resting HR is 65.
