You’re not particularly brilliant, and this rebuttal further proves it. Everything is political to you, you can’t even see where you’re wrong.
Government institution or not, amplifying or not, the matter on ground is a sensitive one and your party is at the forefront of it. To make matters worse, you actually hold a pivotal office in the said administration. This isn’t about support. Randomly disconnected people can’t be wrong. Wisdom requires silence until the matter is resolved. So, focus on your job and your duties and let the spokespeople of INEC do their job.
Except you’re trying to tell us, this has been added to your job description.

Those wailing under this post are doing do because they hate that the lie they and their fanatical supporters concocted against the INEC chairman is being dispelled. INEC is an institution of the Federal Government. Amplifying their press statement which is correcting misinformation is not same as defending anyone.

PRESS STATEMENT
INEC CHAIRMAN HAS NO ACCOUNT ON X, DISREGARD PARTISAN FABRICATIONS
The attention of the Office of the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been drawn to a malicious and coordinated campaign of calumny circulating on social media. The false claim alleges that the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, has, in the past, endorsed a partisan post on the platform X (formerly Twitter).
The Commission wishes to state categorically that this allegation is entirely baseless, a total fabrication, and a figment of the imagination of its purveyors. For the avoidance of doubt, the INEC Chairman does not own or operate any personal account on X. He has at no time engaged in partisan commentary, nor has he ever associated himself with any political leaning or activity in his private or public capacity.
This contrived X post is a desperate attempt to impugn the integrity and neutrality of the Chairman at a critical period when the Commission is focused on significant electoral reforms and preparations for upcoming polls. It is a needless distraction designed to stir public distrust in the electoral umpire.
Beyond this partisan mischief, the Commission is aware that cybercriminals have been on the prowl, utilising fake social media accounts in the Chairman’s name to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians. We wish to place it on record that several of such fraudulent accounts had been identified and reported to security agencies in the past. This latest fabrication is merely a continuation of a criminal pattern aimed at exploiting the Commission’s profile for illicit gains.
The Commission will not fold its arms while the character of its leadership is being assassinated by digital imposters and mischief-makers. We wish to notify the public that we are working in close collaboration with relevant security agencies and cyber-intelligence units to track and identify the individuals or groups behind this identity theft and misinformation.
Let it be clearly understood that the Commission will ensure that these imposters face the full wrath of the law. Identity theft and the dissemination of deepfake or forged social media interactions are criminal offenses under the Cybercrimes Act. Those responsible for this mischief will be tracked and prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others who believe the digital space is a safe haven for criminality.
The general public is hereby urged to disregard this falsehood in its entirety. We will continue to disseminate official information regarding the Commission and the Chairman’s activities only through our verified institutional channels and formal press statements.
The Commission remains undeterred and fully committed to its mandate of delivering free, fair, and credible elections for all Nigerians.

Standing in Bayelsa today, what I saw was more than infrastructure.
The New Yenagoa City Road 1 is about access. The Angiama–Oporoma Bridge is about connection. The Bayelsa Independent Power Project is about opportunity.
At every level, government must stay focused on what works for people and our administration will continue to collaborate with states serious about putting people first.
When we do this, we are not just building projects. We are building confidence in our future as a people and as a nation.
I must commend Governor Duoye Diri for putting the people first. Thank you, Bayelsa.
Nigeria will surely succeed.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

NIGERIA POLICE FORCE DEBUNKS FALSE TERROR ALERT IN FCT, ARRESTS SUSPECT FOR INCITEMENT
The Nigeria Police Force wishes to categorically debunk a viral video circulating on social media alleging an ongoing terrorist attack in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The Force states unequivocally that no such incident occurred, and the claims contained in the video are entirely false, misleading, and malicious.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the video was deliberately curated using misleading footage sourced from online platforms to construct a false narrative aimed at causing panic, inciting public fear, and undermining public confidence in the security architecture of the nation’s capital.
In furtherance of its commitment to maintaining public order, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested one Pam Joseph in connection with the creation and dissemination of the false content. The arrest followed credible intelligence and digital forensic investigations linking the suspect to the origin and circulation of the video.
The Force reiterates that while citizens have the right to freedom of expression, such rights do not extend to the deliberate spread of misinformation capable of threatening public peace and national security. Members of the public are therefore advised to verify information before sharing and to refrain from engaging in activities that may incite fear or disorder.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to safeguarding public order and national security, and will continue to monitor digital spaces and take decisive action against individuals who engage in the dissemination of false or misleading information.

From the reports I have received, our armed forces have been conducting sustained, intense land and air offensives against the insurgents, neutralising many terrorist fighters and commanders. The insurgents’ counterattack is a sign of desperation.
I extend my condolences to the families of our gallant soldiers, led by Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of our country in Borno State.
The government will never forget their sacrifices. Their sacrifices will not be in vain. Because of the courage and dedication of our troops on the frontline, our resolve to defeat terrorism and all forms of violence across Nigeria is stronger than ever.
I urge the Military High Command and our troops in all theatres of operation: Do not lose heart, do not be weary, do not be discouraged.
Our officers and men should continue to serve with honour, courage, and patriotism. The government will always stand by the Armed Forces, provide more of the equipment needed and ensure the welfare of all who risk their lives for our safety.
I urge Nigerians and the media to continue to support our Military in their relentless battle against insurgency and banditry. We should desist from celebrating or condoning the attacks against our troops. These soldiers are our heroes; unforgettable and irreplaceable.
My condolences also go to the government and people of Borno State. The Federal Government will continue to work with the state government to achieve total victory and lasting peace.

From my DM:
For 25 years, my family has been searching for my brother, and not a single day has gone by without hoping for news about him.
His name is Chukwugekwu Okonkwo. He is Nigerian, from Abagana, and was born on July 12, 1979. The last time we saw him was when he was about to travel abroad, and since then, he has completely disappeared from our lives.
About six years ago, someone claimed to have seen him in Cameroon. Since then, we have held onto that hope, going from place to place in search of answers. We keep being told that he is alive but not doing well.
This is a desperate call for help.
If you have seen him, know anything about him, or have any information at all, please reach out.
All information and questions can be sent to @splashysophy.
Please help us share this as widely as possible. Someone, somewhere might have the missing piece to this story.

My heart goes out to Nigerian 🇳🇬 students in the USA🇺🇸 who will be finishing their master's or PhD this year.
A lot of my people there have reached out to me about an alternative pathway.
As it is, you can't get an H-1B visa to work.
PhD students may have to come back home after their degree.
Even if you have an EB1A or EB2 NIW approved, you can't change your visa until the ban is lifted.
The ONLY option available to MSc students is to start a PhD (Many may have to do this).
Another option is to come meet me here in Canada 🇨🇦 via school.
