• India produces more than a million engineering graduates every year. • India is home to some of the world's largest R&D Centres including those of Samsung, Google, Microsoft, GE, Rolls Royce, Qualcomm and many more. • Geopolitically the world is as unstable as it has been in decades, which would engender a need to build sovereignty in defence, space, semiconductors, etc. • Time is now to deploy serious money into these spaces. For example, large capital deployed through @sidbiofficial's FoF for Startups has been very successful in having a multiplicative effect on capital deployed downstream. SIDBI has iterated & learned over the years, and we now need to scale and extend the learnings to unlock both private and further government capital. Moonshots do need Moolah as Kunal Bahl articulates in @EconomicTimes! @BluehillVC

Advanced packaging is one of the most important developments in modern semiconductors. As the effect of Moore's law becomes more pronounced and traditional transistor scaling slows, the next domain to improve performance is by stacking chips vertically and integrating them more tightly through advanced packaging. 3D-packaging provides for multiple benefits including shorter signal paths, lower latency, higher bandwidth and better energy efficiency. "Everything is going 3D. This increases the importance of material science". - Applied Materials President. At @BluehillVC, we are investing across the semiconductor value chain, including in the material science part of the value chain.

Congrats to the @RapteeEnergy team in raising INR 25Cr from Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). This is a solid validation of the the tech that Raptee has built and a strong show of support to local Tamil Nadu startups by the state government. This is the way! @TRBRajaa @TheStartupTN

"If India is serious about building companies of consequence in FRONTIER TECHNOLOGIES, translation (of research) must be treated as national capability, and not ad-hoc activity. Public research funding and VC are insufficient on their own." - IIMA Director. The director's commentary highlights the need to bridge the valley of depth between research and commercialization through strategic support systems and patient capital. Are our leaders (political and industry) listening?

India’s space-tech moment is accelerating 🚀. In 2025 alone: $276M was invested across 33 venture deals, which is more than the previous two years combined! Capital is quickly following ambition.

“Historic semiconductor fab” - except it’s not a fab. It’s a packaging plant. Micron’s Sanand ATMP receives finished wafers from their US/Japan/Taiwan factories. India cuts, tests & boxes them. Zero wafers fabricated here. Zero circuits designed here. The real numbers nobody’s saying: → Total cost: ₹22,516 Cr → Micron paid: ₹6,800 Cr (30%) → Indian taxpayers paid: ₹15,700+ Cr (70%) → Jobs created so far: 2,000 We gave a US company ₹15,700 Cr of public money to do the lowest-value job in semiconductor manufacturing; the same thing Malaysia & Vietnam have been doing since the 1980s. India’s ACTUAL first semiconductor fab is Tata Dholera. First chip: Dec 2026. At 28nm. TSMC is shipping 2nm. Today. This is a start. Not a revolution. Stop letting photo ops rewrite the dictionary.
Indian Tech & Infra@IndianTechGuide

🚨 Historic milestone in India. 🇮🇳 While the world is on turbulence, India has opened it's 1st semiconductor fab manufacturing plant in Gujarat. Micron presented its first shipment of made-in-India memory modules to Dell for its laptops made in India for India. 💥

From tomorrow, India becomes the ONLY country in the world to mandate SIM binding for WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal. Not the US. Not the UK. Not even China. Just India. The government says “cybersecurity.” Let’s fact-check that with their own data. They already blocked 9.42 lakh fraudulent SIM cards. Already saved INR 5,489 Crore through existing systems. Already froze 24 lakh mule accounts. The existing tools ARE working. So why put 100 Crore+ Indians under surveillance? Cyber fraud in 2024 was INR 22,845 Crore. Banking apps ALREADY have SIM binding. Did that stop it? No. Fraudsters use burner SIMs. They’ll keep using burner SIMs. This rule punishes ordinary citizens, not criminals. The Supreme Court in Puttaswamy (2017) ruled Privacy is a fundamental right under Article 21. Any restriction must be legal, necessary, and proportionate. This fails all three. Meta and Google have formally called it “unconstitutional” and “ultra vires.” Even former Qualcomm VP Parag Kar confirmed Apple’s iOS literally blocks apps from reading SIM identifiers. The tech doesn’t even support what the government is demanding. No public consultation. No parliamentary debate. No judicial oversight for disconnecting your access. WhatsApp Web forcefully logged out every 6 hours. Internet Freedom Foundation demanded a rollback. Industry challenged it legally. Government’s response? “No extension.” Yesterday I wrote about how the Whistleblower Protection Act was never implemented. Today the same government wants your messaging identity without a court order. Won’t protect those who expose corruption. But will track every message you send. This isn’t cybersecurity. This is a pattern.

Rogue drones are used to drop arms, drugs, counterfeit money, etc across the India-Pak border. This has been escalating recently as you can see below. The usual recourse from our armed forces is to shoot these down but we lose forensic information on the drone like the take-off coordinates, target coordinates, photography captured, make of the flight controller, etc. Our portfolio company at @BluehillVC, Zebu Intelligent Systems has a relevant "Drone-capture" solution, to capture these rogue drones "alive" to enable forensics by our armed forces.

There's outsize focus in bringing Electronics Production "inhouse" in India. Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme is supporting manufacturing in Multilayer PCBs, Lithium Ion Cells, Optical Transceivers, Sub-assemblies, etc. Investment is coming in from various groups including Tatas, Samsung, Wipro.

We just made history and broke 4 records! The coolest part about this was we never set out to break records in the first place! Baala just wanted to take our motorcycles out for a spin for the holidays. All this on a production motorcycle with no extra planning or additional support just says so much about how far the EV ecosystem has grown in India! Want to know more about our motorcycles? Come take a test ride today! @IyerOnTheRun @bigvig21
Raptee.HV@RapteeEnergy

Raptee.HV just carved its name into history, officially recognized by the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for : 1. Longest Distance Covered by a Production Electric Motorcycle 2. Highest Average Distance Achieved by a Production Electric Motorcycle #RapteeHV
