@PapaGeezlike @ThaboSchoeman We have a crisis of crime to deal with in the e-hailing sector & in general. We can't be arguing our experience (FACTS) with your hearsay (OPINION) If it makes u feel better, you're right then, it is the Zimbabweans that killed King Z & are responsible in committing these crimes

@EhailingCouncil @ThaboSchoeman What do you mean? I got this straight from an Uber driver’s mouth. Then two more drivers verified that it’s BEEN happening and still happening RIGHT NOW. He said Zim criminals don’t mind killing cos they just hop the border back home till case goes cold. Locals try avoid murder.

Zwelakhe Khumalo was robbed by his passengers yesterday. Trip was from Eastgate to Soweto. He was shot & discovered by colleagues who rushed him to hospital. Where he died. His phone was tracked through a live location he had activated & it ended in Dube Hostel. RIP King Z 🕊

@EhailingCouncil Something has to be done to protect our E-hailing Drivers If its not robbers it's Taxi drivers @SAPoliceService SAPS why not create a unit dedicated to protecting E-hailers. This unit will be patrol in E-hailing hotstops and be called/buzz to escort if Ehailer doesn't feel safe

@EhailingCouncil Passengers and drivers should no longer be just strangers. Some vetting must be done.

@EhailingCouncil This business model is not very different from hitch hiking. Really need cameras & AI risk detection as data transfer and storage technology improves

@EhailingCouncil Modify cars that do Uber to completely isolate the driver with passengers using a physical barrier, no passenger must take the front seat. The back seats must have cameras for each seat to capture the passengers in real time. No cash payments so that the passenger can be traced

@EhailingCouncil Yesterday a bolt driver showed me knife wounds on his hands after he fought with 2 coloured thugs near Mams. He managed to take the knife from the front seat passenger, the guy behind was trying to strangle him. They fled on foot but he ran over one of them n broke his legs

@EhailingCouncil You need to fight for verification of users. E-hailing company in S.A must run identity and residency verification. SAns wouldn’t be running around looking for perpetrators if their identities were initially verified. It may not fully deter, but will know who they are instantly.

@EhailingCouncil During our last ride, our driver informed us that he had been hijacked two weeks back and taken to Dube Hostel, where criminals used his car account to rob other passengers. He mentioned that his phone's location is still showing as active at Dube Hostel.

@EhailingCouncil This cannot be allowed to go on much further. It seems like it has become more risky to be in an e-hailing business ,that to be cash-in- transit personnel.

@brianreitumetse They're targeted for smartphones since the ehailing APPs are operated from smartphones. Also, for other belongings & cash. Mind you there are cash payments on Uber and are prevalent in other platforms such as Bolt, Indriver etc

@PapaGeezlike @ThaboSchoeman Oho, "you heard." We are the victims we live these experiences & we can confirm u have been misled. Mind u more than 40% of ehailers r foreigners, a majority being Zimbabweans & they're equally affected. The more we politik/selective, the more we fail in our fight against crime

@EgdremralgnE Indeed. Unfortunately, we have done our best to fight for verification of users to no avail. Note that APP companies hold no responsibility for the crimes committed in their platforms hence they don't care. It is our govmnt, that shud regulate verification to be mandatory.
