Wouldn’t a good compromise alternative to student loan forgiveness just be to make the loans interest-free so people are just paying back what they borrowed? Paying down just a little bit of principal over decades is not fair or equitable - but neither is giving it away for free.

@NoStressTech @SpesMagnaMark @FixingEducation The last year I was in the classroom I moved to a 0-4 mastery scale. 0 was no work, 1 was an attempt with little to no understanding of the standard. 2 was partial understanding, 3 was mastery w/ assistance, and 4 was mastery w/o assistance. The Ss loved it and showed progress.

@FixingEducation It honestly sounds like you are more concerned with punishing non-compliance than you are with trying to get both students to mastery. The system is failing both students. The real question is why aren’t they learning and how can we move them to mastery?

I had them go around the room and give numbers. The highest class size was 22. I had 34. You’re making a false comparison.
