They shouldn't be treated as "any other ally" after what they've done. They should be isolated, sanctioned, and their leaders tried at the Hague. I don't want any of my tax dollars going to subsidize the genocidal regime. Why would we continue to sell weapons to a regime murdering children and terrorizing its neighbors? You guys are trying to normalize Apartheid Israel, and pretend it's not a brutal apartheid regime murdering people and expanding its borders.
Jeremy Ben-Ami@JeremyBenAmi

J Street position on aid to Israel: This moment demands a reset. The U.S. should end unconditional financial military subsidies to Israel and to move towards a relationship where we treat Israel like any other ally. J Street supports: (1) Phasing out taxpayer-funded military aid when the current agreement ends in 2028. (2) Ensuring Israel can defend itself, by selling – but not subsidizing with U.S. taxpayer dollars – the weapons it needs, including Iron Dome. (3) Enforcing U.S. law on how American arms are used, including withholding certain weapons when those laws are violated. Why now? The current U.S. aid agreement expires in 2028. This is the moment to chart a smarter path forward. At the same time, after the devastation in Gaza and ongoing suffering in the West Bank, it is clear that the status quo is no longer sustainable. Israel is strong, prosperous and capable of paying for its defense. Treating Israel as an exception and supplying it with a blank check worth billions has made support for the country more divisive and less sustainable. Simply put, the U.S. should treat Israel like any other partner. The normalization of this relationship doesn’t weaken the alliance – it strengthens it, protects democracy and secures long-term bipartisan support.

I can't believe @AOC said @justicedems didn't deserve credit for her victory. The ego has landed! She definitely wouldn't have won without @saikatc and Corbin Trent. Also, @TheYoungTurks did 34 videos on her and got her over a million views and our audience raised $2.5M for Justice Dems overall. No one is looking for a trophy. She has been insecure about this from day one. No one is taking credit away from you! You did a great job in the race! That's why Saikat went all in on you. But it's common decency to thank the people who helped you, instead of weirdly attacking them or being bitter about their help. Who cares about any of our egos? And to my knowledge, no one on our side ever took an ounce of credit away from AOC for the amazing race she ran. But thanking people in our audience who donated, volunteered and voted for you is not a big ask - though we never asked! Can you just let your weirdo grudge go? Is that even too much to ask? But forget anything related to TYT, we were a minor player. Saikat was an angel to you and was brilliant in the campaign. I just don't know if you believe in the concept of loyalty or gratitude? If you can't be grateful to him, that definitely says something about you. I buried this for eight years so that I wouldn't hurt the movement. But saying you won that campaign on your own is a bridge too far. It's also delusional and needlessly egotistical. There is no movement of one. You build things - together!

BREAKING: 300+ New Yorkers have taken over the offices of Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer demanding no more weapons for Israel. Tell Congress: Fund people, not bombs.

@admcrlsn The dumbest take ever. The job isn’t about ideology. Brad Lander had an awful ROR as NYC comptroller. I know the left hates people who actually have jobs the depend on a strong pension system. The far left is a joke

The office of NY Comptroller flies under the radar, but it’s an enormously powerful position that has the ability to proactively help make New Yorkers’ lives more affordable *and* invest in our future. For too long it’s been a glorified passive bookkeeper role. For the last two decades, it has invested the state’s $290+ billion pension fund in companies that are complicit in things that are abhorrent to most New Yorkers — all while leaving money on the table because it refuses to adapt to the moment. But now we have the chance to pass the torch by electing someone with a reimagined vision for the office, a deep background in finance and public service, with unflinching and consistent progressive values. Who will divest the pension fund from Palantir, fossil fuels, and foreign bonds (including Israel), while investing further in transit, housing, and upstate infrastructure. Who will take $20 billion in unclaimed funds that’s just sitting around waiting to plug holes in the state budget to actively invest in baby bonds, childcare, maternal care, and rent relief. Who will finally conduct the forensic audit that the MTA so desperately needs. Who was born and raised in New York, who — as the son of Ugandan refugees who was raised in a rent stabilized apartment — has known what it’s like to struggle and overcome. His name is Adem Bunkeddeko. And he’s the bold, fiscally responsible, homegrown, progressive champion that New York needs to usher in a new era of prosperity.

Jamaal has spent his career fighting for the same New Yorkers I am fighting for. It is an honor to have his endorsement in this race for New York State Comptroller. @RepBowman

The New York state pension should divest from all foreign investments. That includes Israel. We should be investing right here in New York, and we must be making morally and fiscally sound investments. That's what I'll do as New York State Comptroller.
Harper Freeman@harpfreee

ICYMI: Members of Local 1113, a union of around 725 investigators and financial employees, passed a resolution calling for their pensions to be divested from Israeli stocks and bonds. It's the 4th public-sector union in NYC to do so. thechiefleader.com/stories/local-…

The New York state pension should be used for good. No more fossil fuel investments. We should be investing in affordable housing, green jobs, and clean energy. That's exactly what I'll do as State Comptroller. Grateful to have @sunrisemvmtnyc in this fight with us!

Ran into some amazing faces at the 100 Days Rally! Our City on Socialism is working. Crime is down, services are up, and hope is in the air. Now we need socialists up in Albany to tax the rich and fund Zohran’s agenda!

It's politics
It's politics@uspolitics1111·
The lowest of the low are those who sacrifice their lives to defend Israel and her policies. These individuals are chosen by the public to serve as representatives of the common good. As public workers, their authority is limited to meeting the demands of the people they are *supposed* to represent. They are not helping themselves when they neglect to do so because they wish to continuously defend the settler colonial apartheid state.
