If you and your friends think that Kamala Harris lost because she was too right wing, I need you to put down your abridged version of Das Kapital and go talk to some real people who don’t live on the coasts.
ostonox@ostonox

@treeaston Hmm I wonder why Liz Cheney aligning so much with Kamala Harris she didn’t need to ask for a single policy concession was a problem… Guess we’ll never know! First time dems lost the popular vote in 20 years btw

This tweet reveals that Neera's definition of "the Democratic party" is just the apparatus of consultants, donors, and political elites she belongs to. She's correct, in that sense: The Bush-era neocons trying to take over the Democratic Party via their rebrand as "Never-Trumpers" are definitely nicer to the ultrawealthy and well-connected than Hasan is. That's because, like her, they see politics as an intellectual exercise and vehicle for personal elevation.
Neera Tanden🌻@neeratanden

The Never-Trumpers treat the Democratic party a lot better than Piker does.

@Ericrse37986 Even as a leftist, it is unfortunate that other leftists are allergic to having power and/or expecting things to change overnight. Having a leftist mayor of the largest city in the US plus a possible Senator is massive. Rejection of AIPAC is and Israel as a whole is growing too.

Uhhh? Zohran Mamdani and Graham Platner? Analilia Mejia? The fact that someone like Abdul El-Sayed has a solid chance of winning in Michigan? And there’s still a lot of primaries left to go.
Hutch@hutchinson

Right now, after having lost to Trump 2x and with party approval at record lows, is the best opportunity in my lifetime for a left tea party and…it is just not materializing. We’re not seeing a meaningful shift. So why are the far left claiming to know what energizes voters?

Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: The Democratic Party keeps picking its own winners. Obama wasn’t supposed to run. Bernie got locked out — twice. Biden couldn’t read the room. 107 days. A loss. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is running for Senate in Michigan and he said what nobody in the party will say out loud: “There is a divide between what the establishment says Democrats should fight for — and what Democratic voters actually want.” Medicare for All. Ending a genocide paid for by your taxes. A primary process where ideas actually compete. Michigan is the test case. Full conversation — first episode of The Allen Analysis, dropping this week on X. Never stop connecting the dots.

Biden's presidency was tormented by campus protests over Israel's war in Gaza and his reluctance to push back on it. They shadowed him at events Those protests have been virtually nonexistent with Trump amid the war in Iran. @Lauren_V_Egan looks into why thebulwark.com/p/the-campus-p…

Public trust is hard to earn and easy to lose. It’s not enough to push back on RFK Jr. if we’re not fixing the reason people lost trust in the system in the first place: that it’s motivated by greed. That’s why I fight for Medicare for All.

I don't know why ACP-adjacent weirdos follow me and then get upset when I say something like an "Anti-imperialist state" is incoherent. I'm a *Marxist Humanist*. I come from a tradition that's staunchly anti-Campist and results from critiquing AES countries as state-capitalists.
