I wasn’t privileged enough to watch Erapalli Prasanna in his prime. But I did see him bowl once. Early @IPL years -- @DelhiCapitals (then #DelhiDaredevils) two-day off-spin camp. He must have been nearly 70 then, or more. And yet, the whizzzzz of the ball ripping out of his fingers was unreal. For a moment, you could almost imagine what he must have been at his peak. In 1974 first-class match, he scored 273 not out with a severe hangover, hitting 13 sixes and 31 fours. He later said he barely remembered the innings because he middled every ball but hardly saw one delivery clearly. You missed one more point dear Jawhar Sircar. The "Authorized Signatory" should have been some University official, usually the VC or the Registrar issuing the degree. Here too, Modiji snatched this lawful right from them and signed himself as the one issuing the degree to himself. This happens only in India.
