Domenic brings deep experience, commitment, and a strong understanding of both pension governance and the priorities of our members. Domenic will ensure that: ➡️ Our members’ pensions remain secure and sustainable, ➡️ OMERS continues to protect defined-benefit retirement income, and ➡️ Toronto municipal outside workers have a credible, informed, and effective voice at the table. TCEU Local 416 members are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of a CUPE Local 79 City of Toronto Recreation worker who died while on the job earlier today. We extend our heartfelt condolences to their family, friends, coworkers, and to the entire Oakridge community.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.

There’s a winter storm incoming, and TCEU Local 416’s Winter Maintenance & Transportation crews will be out around the clock clearing snow and keeping Toronto moving.   Please help keep workers and everyone safe:   • Give snowplows and salt trucks plenty of space • Never pass or follow equipment closely • Slow down near crews working on roads and sidewalks • Park off snow routes and narrow streets when possible • Clear your sidewalks and nearby drains   Our crews are working in tough, dangerous conditions so the city can keep running. A little patience makes a big difference.   Stay safe, Toronto — and thank a snow worker. ❄️🚜 #StrongerTogether

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a Local 416 member from the Solid Waste Unit earlier today. On behalf of Local 416 and all our members, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the worker who lost his life while on the job. Local 416 is committed to working closely with the Ministry of Labour, investigators, police, and the City of Toronto to understand what happened. We have reached out to the family to offer our support. Our thoughts remain with the family, their loved ones, and all Solid Waste Management colleagues during this difficult time.
