@SaladinoWR1D Watch it...that Brewers "ball-and-mitt" logo is a 1970s classic...as is the Oriole. The Twins "TC", Pirates "P", and Padres "SD" are returns to old school logos. I would agree that the D-backs, Marlins and Rockies took a step back especially. The Marlins

@mj_cotton @criticalurban @konichivalue There are a lot of American cities where the transit options are ass.
English

@criticalurban @konichivalue You claim to be a city dweller, but don’t understand how city work.
English

Cars move people, and nothing else moves people more efficiently than cars because nothing else can take people between unique locations on demand. Mass transit is limited by fixed locations and schedules. Bicycles are too slow and exposed to the elements. They're a joke.
Pablo Torres@Pableux
@criticalurban You should be thinking about how to move people, but instead, you're focused on how to move cars. Btw, cars are extremely inefficient: they are parked 95% of the time. Most of the fuel is consumed just to move the vehicle's own weight. Cars promote sedentarism. Your metrics:
English

@criticalurban @konichivalue Unless you have special needs, a ten minute walk to the bus stop isn't a hardship.
English

@konichivalue Mass transit does not take people to or from unique locations. It can't. Mass transit provides such limited mobility it depends on development being concentrated by transit lines. You have to bring the buildings to the transit, because the transit can't take you to the building.
English

@criticalurban Like a lot of things, it's a matter of balance. If you choose to live in a community where you can take care of most of your daily needs (groceries, school, worship, etc.) on bike or on foot, work by mass transit, then you only need the car for special occasions.
English

@HawtinNorton @MorningBrew Depends on where you live....Illinois gets half of its electric power from nuclear...has for years.
The real issue is economics. The Navy doesn't have investors that demand ever-rising dividends and stock prices every quarter.
English

@MorningBrew We have been powering our Navy with nuclear reactors since the 1960's yet we can't power a city? We have let the Greta Thurnbergs of the world dictate our destiny.

@CondeSala20 @crsanchezx Trades are incredibly vulnerable to AI. The issues with trades is they are expensive. Look for new products that will take the "skill" out of skilled trades.

la IA lo está cambiando todo a una velocidad de vértigo!

@USMC_Razorback @vbspurs At minimum, beehives need to have removable frames...so hive can be cleaned, and inspected for parasites and overall health. The basic Langstroth beehive (the one Michelle put in) sort of fits the bill. Beekeeping is big ag, and big ag has big rules.
English

@MB3542 @vbspurs "The Michelle Obama beehive is a practical & legal beehive..."
Can you please explain the definition of a "legal beehive"?
We're super curious.🥸
I can't even believe you made that shit up & boldly plastered it for everyone to see...
Permit is only thing needed for an apiary.
English

@Thor656 @Big3GOATRace @kickincans @vbspurs Not sure how it's a "dollar store disaster"...that IS what beehives look like.
English

@theaachor @MrColton @JulieBorowski The issue with building a big event space (the Trump ballroom is supposed to seat 1000) is accommodating smaller events. In most spaces like that, the room will have dividers, but that unoccupied space would seem to be a security issue.
English

@MrColton @JulieBorowski Presidents have hosted banquets and balls since Washington. In the past, though, they've either been at different venues or in tents with portable toilets at the White House.
English

@theaachor @MrColton @JulieBorowski There is space in the White House...for example, the East Room can handle up to 200 people, half that if seated at dining tables.
English

@theaachor @JulieBorowski Except Trump doesn't do that much at the White House...in his prior four-year term, he had only two state dinners. Two.
English

Agreed. Diplomacy is one of the major functions of the presidency. It's a little silly that there is no dedicated space for large events, which are a necessary part of the job.
Also, Trump raised a lot of private money for the construction, and Rand Paul's bill authorizes it using private funds. I don't see any reasonable opposition.
English

@JulieBorowski Let me count the issues
- buildings were demolished without plans
- no public/expert input into the design
- design is way out of proportion with WH
- dollars from private donors invites corruption
- it appears to restrict public access to WH
- the design reeks
English

@vbspurs It turns out beekeeping is heavily regulated, due to diseases and pests. A legal hive has to have frames that can be readily removed and inspected...which is why most hives that you see are the Langsroth hive. The traditional woven basket hive is lovely but not legal.
English

@BullYote @Hstlinghosptlis @jimiuorio You call it brainwashing...they would call it education. Honestly, the amount of material a student needs to learn in medical school is staggering. The idea that they have time to play ideological games is ludicrous. In any professional degree, their is a need to draw a line
English

@Hstlinghosptlis @jimiuorio How about we just get rid of all the brainwashing BS they teach doctors in med school? Like vaccines have never been property tested against placebos and there are natural cures, instead of constantly pushing big pharma poisons on people
English

@fredgeck @jimiuorio Except if you have an inflamed appendix that needs to come out yesterday, you probably are not choosing the surgeon that will do the appendectomy. It's not like getting a tummy tuck.
English

@jimiuorio @jimiuorio You should be able to select whoever you want to take out your appendix.
English

@ChrisHowald @Hstlinghosptlis @TaiAmaranth @jimiuorio The number of deaths from medical errors are pretty hard to parse...to borrow from the COVID era, how many co-morbidities did these people have? How old were they? Not to excuse medical malpractice, but the people dying or injured by docs usually have a lot of bad stuff going on.
English

Doctors kill 275,000 people annually in the US.
Doctors are wrong ALL THE TIME.
I have an aunt, an uncle, and a nephew (not the same nuclear family) who each died from medical malpractice.
How do I know? WE WON THE LAWSUITS!
My nephew’s case was so bad the dr is now in federal prison.
Doctors don’t listen, and the more I interact with various doctors, the more I realize they’re just as average as tue rest of the population and they make the same number of mistakes.
Licensing restrictions just gate keeps salaries and $$ for the industry.
