The amount of people who pretended 2024 Mark Vientos never happened still bothers me if im being honest.

@montemania Bo is gone next year. Baty will be playing 3rd. Vientos is ur first baseman. So any trade would need to return a good MLB starter.

This might be unpopular amongst Mets fans but David Stearns needs to trade Mark Vientos immediately. Well not immediately but soon. This is EXACTLY what they had him on the MLB roster to do; rehab value with a hot start at the dish.

@Masterflip_ Horrible take. I trust this is satire. Bo could be playing 2nd, Baty at 3rd, Brandon is much better than Benge or move Brandon to DH. They barely saved any money. At the time, they had Acuna too so he could be ur low hitting yet great defense… w/ upside

Other interesting takeaways from Aaron Glenn this morning: * The new vet leadership on defense (Davis, Fitzpatrick, Onyemata, et al) will "bring a certain level of adult to our team that we need. I'm excited about that." * Described himself as "a huge fan of Breece (Hall). I think Breece is a top running back in this league." #Jets will revisit negotiations after the draft. * Last week's pro-day tour was extremely valuable for scouting purposes and allowed him and Mougey to experience the process together. * He gave a shout-out to passing-game coordinator Seth Ryan, whom he described as a bright, young coach. (I can almost see Rex beaming with pride.) * Eager to see what WR AD Mitchell can do with a full offseason in the program. Both Glenn and Mougey talking up the WRs corps, which, IMO, remains a need. * I asked Glenn to name a player who might take a big leap from last year to this year, and he cited TE Mason Taylor. * One last thought on Glenn: He was relaxed, personable and insightful throughout his 38-minute session with reporters. Maybe he's more comfortable in the job in Year 2.

At one point during the offseason, some fans believed that this team was headed for a rebuild—failing to make any meaningful moves in free agency or significant trades. Turns out that people need to instill confidence and trust in David Stearns and the Front Office. Stearns is one of the smartest guys in baseball who did an excellent job this offseason. Additionally, this roster constructed is much better than how it looked heading into last season. A change was certainly needed after what happened last season. It’s ok to be sad after losing a few key homegrown guys. I myself am certainly upset, but we all need to remember one thing: the Mets are a better team now. They have a great lineup, a nasty 1-2 punch atop the rotation, one of the best farm systems in baseball, and more importantly an owner willing to spend and make the team better. This team could be really special this season. YOU JUST GOTTA BELIEVE.🧡💙
