@OatmealDome Nice. It tells you this in system settings, but I didn’t expect it to pop up using the in-game controller selector when playing a Switch game on Switch 2.

[Nintendo Switch 2 System Update] Version 22.0.0 adds "Handheld Mode Boost". This will make Switch 1 games think that they are in TV mode even when in handheld. Games can run at higher resolutions in TV mode, taking better advantage of the Switch 2's 1080p screen.

@digitalfoundry Would've been interesting to see it compared to the iOS versions to see how the two handheld/mobile versions compare.

There are no benefits to game key cards over full game carts. They're the same thing except one will work offline and one will not.

@Marsmite @panickedwagon @BringBackBanjoK None of those apply to game carts. You can resell them, sure, but you can also do that with full game carts. All of the game cart cons (delivery or leaving the house to buy, having to bring them with you to play them all on the go) are also cons of game key cards.

I'm not the person you need to convince to close the eShop. And you know what else? Closing it would only harm indie developers. Go start a protest group.

We just got more products than usual, plus, FRLG was clearly supposed to be a shadow drop that they messed up. But yeah, gen 10 content was light, but learning that it's a 2027 game, that makes sense.

@FabrizioART @FuecocoIsBetter @TAHK0 Impossible to say for sure without hearing it from them. But if they work like every other game studio, the producer when pitching the game idea will also pitching a budget and rough timeliness for approval. It'll all be Game Freak internally, most likely.

the pokemon anime is so popular and successful that people forget to include it in discussions of good video game adaptations long before sonic and the last of us
