@OldPlot @Turbinetraveler Flown with various carriers operating these types, The cabin configuration and the catering and entertainment certainly did vary but the core airframe/power remained the same and it is that that influenced my choice.

The A340 is known for its long takeoff runs. Why was the A340 (especially the older variants) so underpowered?

@SClark51032281 @Turbinetraveler Really depends on the airline, not the aircraft type. They decide on the seat type, layout, configuration, amenities, cuisine, entertainment, cabin crew training etc which all contribute to passenger enjoyment. 😑

@Turbinetraveler As a mere passenger with many holiday hours on wide body long range flights in multi engined aircraft top of my list is the Airbus A340 bottom is the DC10 for sheer capacity it is the Boeing 747, All of these were in business class😊.
