@sportingintel Superb to see an Impossible Job in there. Just a superb piece of work.

Almost two years ago, readers of Sporting Intelligence voted for the best sports documentaries ever. Here's that piece and the top 20 back then. Any you would add since? sportingintelligence832.substack.com/p/the-20-best-…

@Lyncpfc Fair point. Many of have blind spots with certain players. While I am no fan of Arsenal I think Saka is a lovely guy yet sgree I have never seen him live up to what I am told he is. Alternatively, I have seen Bellingham & Palmer deliver performances that I think are world class.

In 2023, @KemiBadenoch hosted an Iftar at Lancaster House. I was there. Here’s what happened:
• Call to prayer ✔️
• Men and women prayed separately ✔️
• She stayed, participated, ate food, and raised no issue ✔️
Fast forward to now and she claims Ramadan events with gender-separated prayer are “wrong” and should never have happened.
So what changed?
Not the practice. Not the format.
Just the politics and her principles.
If it was acceptable when she was in government hosting diplomats and business leaders, why is it suddenly “wrong” when it involves ordinary British Muslims?
You can’t have it both way

If Eddie Howe and/or Liam Rosenior were sacked in the summer would you take either at Palace. Always felt Chelsea would be too much for LR and a club like Palace would be his more suited as his next club after Strasbourg. I’d certainly take either. #cpfc

@dave43law The ghastly aunt you dread seeing at family birthdays and parties. Made worse by the apologists that say 'oh its just auntie Carole being the way she is'. We all know what it really is all about.

@TheRealSitts The biggest fool in he history of football moves into social commentary. What a prat. He really does need a proper sorting out. Twat.

If (as Andrew Neil says) GB News has become Reform TV then maybe there’s a case for the @ElectoralCommUK to start taking an interest independent.co.uk/voices/reform-…

@ZoeJardiniere Sarah is a snide & poisonous columnist whose views on any subject should not be treated as anything other than a vacuous attempt to stir up hate. Also doubt she cycles anywhere, not least because the wind is likely to blow her wig off.

Sarah Vine actively supported Tory attempts to send literally these exact people by force to Rwanda.

Just cycled past the Iranian embassy in London, where a group of anti-regime protesters were playing music and dancing in the afternoon sunshine in defiance of the latest brutal executions. God love them. I hope they get their country back.

@steverichards14 @michaelgove Says a lot about failure of modernBritain that Gove manages to enjoy a prominent position in public life. An enthusiastic brexit liar & prominent defender of the indefensible lbc.co.uk/article/michae… in numerous failed govts yet we are encouraged to take him seriously. Shocking.

In this podcast I analyse @michaelgove article on Ed Miliband.. the sweeping assertions that do not add up..the reality is far more interesting and complex:

@I_amMukhtar Worth noting how Farage is clearly repelled and absolutely hates this guy. Just appreciates his value as a useful idiot.

Olise may have improved at Bayern, but anyone who watched Crystal Palace regularly knew he was already one of the best players in Europe.
His final season in the Premier League was phenomenal.

🪄 Michael Olise might just be the best player in the world right now..

@IFLTV Only if the crapness of multiple, largely corrupt, sanctioning bodies allow it. The other reason being that he is not really very good and trade solely on the family name.
English

@prodnose Football is governed by administrators whose last thought is foer the game & the health & enjoyment of the people that play & support it. Their priority is solely about how much money & self aggrandisement they can take from the game. The worst possible people to have in charge.

@GeorgeHilder5 Fair. Munoz makes such a difference with the energy he brings. Such a brilliant player.

@RupertLowe10 This psychological phenomena is known as projection. It's where people project the characteristics they most hate about themselves on to others.
