@ROctober74 @davidvatz All of those groups face challenges with restrictions that prevent them from building homes. These restrictions are policy choices made at the city and county level. PHP advocates for reforming those restrictions so that it’s easier for those groups to build homes.

@ROctober74 @davidvatz City of Bridges Community Land Trust, Action Housing, and East Liberty Development Corp have all come to speak to Pro-Housing Pittsburgh, and the policies that PHP endorses would make it easy for them to build housing.

@ROctober74 @davidvatz Saying "housing is a human right" doesn't magically make more housing appear. If we don't have enough housing, we have to build more. We're in favor of public housing projects, we're in favor of privately built housing - we're in favor of building housing, period.

@ROctober74 @davidvatz Our argument is that IZ makes housing more expensive. We want housing prices to be lower and more affordable! IZ, though well intended, constrains housing supply. This makes housing scarcer, which drives up prices.
