So, finally, Mt Kenya has entered the 2027 presidential race?
Irungu Kang’ata joining Linda Mwanachi means the Kikuyu Nation, through him, will play for nothing less than the Deputy Presidential slot.
The governor's seat looks attractive for Kang’ta wa Mabarua, and because this man has delivered on “almost” every election promise, he stands a chance of winning a national seat! He should go for it.
People of the Mountain love performing leaders.
Kang’ata will not run on the DCP ticket; a coalition that allows other parties like Jubilee, DP, PNU, PLP, among others, to field candidates will definitely be an attractive pick for him. DCP must fend off this political aggression.
Whether Kang’ata wa Mabarua is tapped for the deputy presidential slot or he runs again as Governor for Murang’a, his announcement that he identifies with Linda Mwananchi has upset the political infrastructure of the Mountain.
It's early days, but we are here to witness what happens next, and wouldn't it be a good idea for Muranga to go for the big seat? Kwani it's only Kiambu and Nyeri that can produce presidents?

A President who will completely suspend any further opening up of new road and rail networks, a President who will call off construction of schools for the next 10 years, a President who will terminate any further electrification projects in the country. Simply a President who will stop CONSTRUCTION so that Kenya can breath. A President who will put us on the world map by the number of international peace negotiations that Kenya will be engaged in for 10 years. HERE is the paradox in Kenya's 2027 presidential election. The incumbent President desperately wants the chief opposition figure to be on the ballot. The supporters of the chief opposition figure don't want him on the ballot.
Very interesting. In other African countries, the incumbent President ensures the main opposition leader is either barred or completely abstracted from running.
We are facing the complete opposite scenario in Kenya. The sitting president is even ready to buy out all other candidates to ensure he is only left with his former deputy in the race.
On the other hand the supporters of the former deputy president (who are about 12million in number) don't want to hear he can be on the ballot.

It was Raila Odinga himself who recommended Faith Odhiambo to sit in the Victims Compensation Panel.
Compensation is the easiest and most cost-effective way to alleviate the pain and suffering of victims of state rights infractions.
Faith Odhiambo became LSK President having lobbied everywhere; but the votes weren’t quite in.
She then visited Raila Odinga to get his backing.
Posturing as pro-Baba to get the support of Baba lawyers then turning her back on the one thing Baba really wanted to happen — the compensation of his supporters living with life-long injuries, and the payments to the families of those the state killed.
Sabotaging victims compensation was the last truant act from that political conwoman. Baba’s curse is on her.
Therefore, to those of us who wanted the victims of 2013, 2017 and 2023 post-election violence compensated per Baba’s wishes, Faith Odhiambo’s political career is DEAD as a dodo.
