Proud to have sponsored House Ceremonial Resolution 8103 to designate May 10, 2026, as First Responders Mental Health Awareness Day in Florida.
Our law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and dispatchers face unimaginable stress and trauma in the line of duty. While they work tirelessly to protect our communities, we must also ensure they have the support, resources, and encouragement they need to care for their own mental health.
This resolution is about breaking the stigma, promoting access to critical services, and sending a clear message: taking care of your mental health is a sign of strength. To all of our first responders — thank you for your sacrifice, your courage, and your unwavering commitment to keeping Florida safe. We stand with you.

I was proud to stand and say what many Floridians already know. The increase in local government spending is out of control and the solution is right in front of us. Reduce and eventually eliminate property taxes, and let the tourists and new movers pay for it.
My remarks here are in support of @RepMoniqueM legislation, which would eliminate property taxes on homesteads (except for the taxes levied by school districts). This is a powerful step in the right direction.
My legislation would be a COMPLETE elimination of property taxes, with an appropriate replacement through other revenue collection, and I truly believe this is where Florida is headed. We cannot continue to allow a system of taxation that takes your property if you can't pay the taxes.
Under that system, we are mere renters, and government is the ultimate owner of our property. That is simply unacceptable and un-American, and it's certainly now how things should be done in the Free State of Florida.
Consider the data. Local government revenue has outpaced personal income by 2 to 1. That’s totally unacceptable. We must start cutting now and pursue full elimination of property taxes.
This is the start of a new era for the State of Florida.

Direct Sales Day @ the Capitol
January 27th and 28th I was proud to partner with The Florida Direct Sellers & Consumers Coalition and Gordon Hester and host the first in Florida history - Direct Sellers Day at the Capitol
“Great direct selling companies have positively impacted Florida’s residents for decades. Through this coalition, we now have a clear path to help educate lawmakers, business leaders, and the public on how to protect this free-enterprise model — not just in Florida, but as an example for the rest of the country.” Rep Ryan Chamberlin
“Our goal is practical, forward-thinking solutions that protect opportunity while strengthening accountability across the industry.” Founder and Executive Chairman Gordon Hester
According to Coalition data, from 2018 through 2024 direct selling generated $15.47 billion in cumulative sales in Florida, supported more than one million independent distributors statewide, and contributes an estimated $6.4 billion in annual economic impact.
A special thanks to:

The House Careers and Workforce Subcommittee heard a bill, sponsored by @RepRyanC, that would allow certain employees to waive their right to the state’s minimum wage while participating in apprenticeship programs. #MustSeeTFC thefloridachannel.org/videos/2-4-26-…

One of our recent polls found 80% of Florida voters are worried that Chinese medical companies operating in the U.S. could be compelled to follow CCP directives that jeopardize patient data. We must get China out of our hospitals NOW.

My Bill HB 221 will allow an employee to waive the right to minimum wage if he or she was receiving other value in an internship, pre-apprenticeship, or on-the-job workforce training that could enhance their long-term, income-earning future.
✅ It has passed its second committee and now onto the 3rd. This video is my closing argument.
Concept of the Bill…
We live in a society where it has become the norm to spend $25k, $50k, or even $100k per year in college tuition to learn skills and a degree with the hope for a higher paying job at the end of the journey.
Many careers however do not require a degree, and many of these careers can often lead to even higher incomes because of the skills learned and value delivered.
An unintended consequence of Florida’s Constitutional minimum wage is that it cripples an employer’s ability to provide more opportunities for unskilled workers in the areas of pre-apprenticeship and education.
This bill fixes this.

In the Ways and Means committee this week we heard @GriffGriffitts bill capping the out of control growth in Florida property Taxes.
Over the past year many Counties and Cities have come to Tallahassee to argue against ANY and ALL property tax relief. I haven't heard any acknowledgment of the 50% increase in the last 4 years nor solutions on their end to help Florida's citizens. It's time for this to STOP!

BREAKING: @RepMoniqueM throws her support behind the Florida Agency for Fiscal Oversight, saying local governments have become “unmoored” from their core responsibilities, and taxpayers are paying the price
The bill would codify the agency within the Department of Financial Services

Florida’s minimum wage is $14
BUT @RepRyanC wants to give interns and trainees a choice
His bill would let them opt out of the wage if they’re learning on the job.
No coercion, time-limited, and parents must approve if under 18.
