@AnchorLightPub After seeing this post, if I were your mother, I would say “no thanks”.

Having a falling out with family members over moral issues disguised as politics is an epidemic in the US right now. It's very similar to the divisions seen in families during the Civil War.
There is one common theme, and it's discussed in this video:
MAGA Cult Members (and this is a central theme to Cults) care more about what those in the Cult (what they often refer to as their community) than even their closest friend or relative. Even their own children.
This can be devastating to the non-MAGAs effected, but surprisingly reassuring to those in MAGA, which only deepens the divisions and the pain.
Tribalism is a powerful influencer on behavior.

Republicans can mock the No Kings protests all the want, but the reality is it just grew from 6 million to 8 million people in a few months. 3,300 rallies in all 50 states, many in suburbs and small towns.
Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress see the writing on the wall. A record 36 are retiring early. Donald Trump is sitting around 40% approval at best, closer to the low 30s by some measures.
When a president is under 50%, their party historically loses an average of 34 seats in Congress. Democrats only need a handful of seats. The energy is real and it is growing.

Regardless of who sits in the Oval Office, I’ll stand with the parents of a murdered child.
I’ll stand on the idea that protecting American citizens comes first.
I’ll stand for our athletes who wore our flag and brought home gold.
I’ll stand against medicalizing kids without parental consent.
These aren’t “policy positions.”
They’re baseline human values.
If your entire political identity is just resist at all costs, even when what you’re resisting is the lowest-hanging fruit for common ground - it betrays your true incentives: power over people. The American people deserve better.

Today we lost James Van Der Beek at 48 after a courageous battle with cancer. Tragically, even a beloved actor’s fight left his young family drowning in medical debt and struggling to stay in their home.
At this very moment, federal Medicaid cuts are stripping healthcare from millions of Californians. More than 2 million could lose coverage this year alone.
We are generating more wealth than at any point in human history. But we still refuse to guarantee healthcare to every American from the day they are born. This is not just a policy failure. It is a moral crime.
It’s time to pass Medicare for All and put human dignity ahead of human greed.

@lisamurkowski Voter ID is favored by 80% of Americans. It is favored across all voting demographics. The only people against this are you and your cronies in DC.

When Democrats attempted to advance sweeping election reform legislation in 2021, Republicans were unanimous in opposition because it would have federalized elections, something we have long opposed. Now, I’m seeing proposals such as the SAVE Act and MEGA that would effectively do just that. Once again, I do not support these efforts. Not only does the U.S. Constitution clearly provide states the authority to regulate the "times, places, and manner" of holding federal elections, but one-size-fits-all mandates from Washington, D.C., seldom work in places like Alaska.
Election Day is fast approaching. Imposing new federal requirements now, when states are deep into their preparations, would negatively impact election integrity by forcing election officials to scramble to adhere to new policies likely without the necessary resources. Ensuring public trust in our elections is at the core of our democracy, but federal overreach is not how we achieve this.

This is perhaps my favorite in a very weird series of tweets late last night by Harmeet Dhillon, AAG for Civil Rights.
I'm glad that she, having studied Latin, knows what non compos mentis means.

@EdWhelanEPPC I majored in Ancient Greek and Latin at Dartmouth. Your pretentiousness merely underscores your utter lack of street cred.

@MAGAVoice @HarmeetKDhillon I have admired Harmeet for many years. Grateful for her service to our country.

Alabama has won 13 of the last 15 vs LSU and leads the all time series 58-27 but LSU fans will swear that’s a “bigger rivalry” for them.
