Essentially, Labour has put Britain into a political stasis for the next three years. There's nothing in their policy cupboard that won't make matters worse, so their only option is to do nothing much. That's as good a reason as any for retaining Starmer. He is the perfect man for the job. A bland, visionless functionary will go through the motions until it's time to call an election. Too bad the rest of us just have to watch the country burn - just because Labour is too dishonourable to relinquish power they have no idea how to use.

Highlander is an amazing film (forget the sequels ever happened). It's great. Very enjoyable. But let's be honest here. Christopher Lambert is a terrible actor. He was awful. The film was still good because nobody gave too much of a fuck back then as long as it was entertaining. So I'm personally pretty stoked for the remake with Henry Cavill because the man can act, he looks the part, and I'm guessing he's also a big fan of the original. I just really hope they don't go and Witcher it.

This is an incredible piece of journalism by the BBC and @SueM1tchell She has tracked down the identity of an Iraqi Kurd who appears to be responsible for a significant proportion of the people smuggling into the UK. He has boats and trucks and even advertises his services online and offline. He has remained unknown for years. But no more - now his name is revealed. There is no extradition treaty between Iraq and the UK but this man and his organisation should be found and prosecuted fully. The UK government should refuse to take a single migrant from Iraq until the government hands him over. And what has Keir Starmer been doing all this time, when he talks about “smashing the gangs”? Nothing. It has taken a gutsy BBC journalist to do his job.

This is a problem created by government through local authorities. There are significantly more visitors to Scotland now than there were 20 years ago, but practically zero new hotels or B&B accommodation has been constructed in that time due to planning policy. I live in one of Scotlands most popular tourist destinations and there has been a flat refusal on any accommodation applications by the long-standing Labour authority for two decades, just as they also have refused construction of workplaces and rural homes (whilst granting permission for thousands of Barratt-type homes on grade 1 arable) We have way more people yet no more facilities than we had in 1990.

What on earth is happening to hotel prices? I was looking at an impromptu couple of days on the motorcycle on the West Coast of Scotland. Prices for one person in fairly ordinary hotels were about £200-250 per night, midweek. And they were all that price. Who on earth can afford that?

I hate Starmer as much as the next person but the idea that his eviction will usher in a government prepared to take tough choices on welfare cuts, immigration, net zero and borders is for the birds. Labour are incapable of governing for the benefit of the British people.
