A great milestone for Oldham County today with the ribbon-cutting of the new courthouse. It was an honor to see the Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court in attendance at the official dedication of this important building. This project—eight years in the making—ensures the courthouse remains in the heart of Oldham County. Appreciation to County Judge Executive David Voegele and LaGrange Mayor John Black for their leadership and commitment in seeing this vision through for the community. What made the day even more special was the community. Families, students, school choirs, and bands all came together to celebrate—showing exactly what makes Oldham County strong. After the ceremony, folks had the opportunity to walk through the courthouse and see firsthand what this investment means for the future. On a beautiful day like today, it’s clear that our country is built on communities like this—where people show up, support one another, and take pride in what we build together.

This is why I don’t listen to what anyone else says about the ceasefire or the negotiations. So many different people with various agendas and zero inside knowledge of the negotiations. Wait for the guy running them to tell us himself.

Here is the thing about gasoline. The great recession was triggered by $5.00/gal gas. During the autopen years it was around $5 when the economy went off the rails and they had to change the definition of what a recession was to avoid a recession. Now add in inflation of the last 4 years and you get a figure closer to $6/gal before things go sideways. $4/gal which we don't have in the majority of the country isn't the problem the doomers want you to think it is. Sure, it's worse than $3/gal. And the sweet spot is probably around $2.5 tbh, but $4/gal is not an economy killer. If gas starts getting up around the high $5-$6 range I would be very worried for the economy. As of now it's a bit of a drag but nothing that will stop what is happening with the growing boom times. We get an interest rate cut or two and it's off to the races. Oil wont be this level for long. I see it around $60 sooner or later. Also our economy has changed over the years and it's run mostly on NG now not oil (think plastics and chemcials) and NG is cheap.
