@CallMeGhaul @NotVeryAndy Probably. That and I think the amount of large changes to the biome during the snapshots probably didn’t sit well with people since (iirc) most other snapshots didn’t have this drastic of changes so quickly one after another? That’s the best I got for now

@CallMeGhaul @NotVeryAndy I think maybe to those who call it directionless aren’t satisfied with “everything added around it” as a direction in itself and would prefer the ideas had a more equal focus/harmony with each other? Something like that (I’ve never had to think about it this much tbh so idk 😭)

chapter 5 = FRIEND chapter 6 = ECHIDNA and ERAM (if they are not FRIEND already, and no gaster because we will just MABYE get lore) chapter 7 = GASTER no knight because we already know we technically will "fight" every chapter, even if its like in chapter 4 😝

@TemmieOrSmth99 @_VioMarks_ see i don't dislike carol knight but i think it's just a lot less fitting with the game's themes. if i was shown evidence that carol would want to engage in escapism and act like a cocky teenager while doing so i would be much more willing to believe in it

itd be kinda funny if Carol Knight was a red herring of a red herring like everyones meant to think itd be impossible for it to be her, yet from a game design standpoint all the doubt just loops back around to it being her again which would still surprise people with the reveal

I genuinely think it’s time Peppy and Slippy became playable in smash. They’re arguably the most iconic Nintendo characters not yet playable (alongside Toad & Dixie Kong). Yeah they wouldn’t be that unique, but 2 more lower effort characters is fine. They’re arguably overdue.
