Without the USA, NATO has 2,000,000 active-duty soldiers, 9,000+ military aircraft, and over 1,700 military ships. No one in NATO needs an unreliable ally compromised by both Russia and Israel.

In all seriousness, I think it's time for NATO to kick the US out of the alliance until they elect a different president. Disgusting, deranged rhetoric and threats aside, no one honestly believes Donald Trump will ever come to the aid of any NATO member attacked by his good friend and ally, Vladimir Putin. Time to end the charade. Once a different president is elected, the US can be readmitted to the alliance.

@PaulSkallas I'd factor in how much affection he had for his wife. She passed away in December. Chuck may have felt it was simply time to go.

President Trump needs to calm down and think about this: when fighting Saddam Hussein, European countries like Britain, Spain, and the Czech Republic followed suit, so why are there no European countries this time? In short, this war is simply too unpopular! Take it easy and stop being manipulated by Netanyahu. Stop putting on a brave face.

By refusing to take action against clubs based in Israeli settlements, FIFA has failed to enforce its own rules and is blatantly flouting international law. FIFA had a clear opportunity to stand up for Palestiniansโ€™ rights and international law โ€“ with this decision it has shamefully chosen to abandon both. amnesty.org/en/latest/newsโ€ฆ

The fantasy of seizing Kharg Island has nothing whatsoever to do with any genuine military requirement or the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz. It is a tired, decades-old obsession cooked up and relentlessly peddled by Israeli strategists, their captive think tanks, and the usual chorus of Zionist lobbyists and warmongering โ€œexperts.โ€ This is purely an Israeli project, born in Tel Aviv and now being aggressively shopped to Washington. As always, the United States would be the one left paying the price, with American lives, American tax dollars, American ships, and American credibility, while Israel reaps the strategic benefits and risks almost nothing itself.
Axios@axios

NEW: The Trump administration is considering plans to occupy or blockade Iran's Kharg Island to pressure Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. An operation to take over Kharg Island could put U.S. troops more directly in the line of fire. axios.com/2026/03/20/iraโ€ฆ

Trump is going to lose in Iran. Bush had 35 countries in 1991 and still needed six months to plan it. Trump has Fox News and a Truth Social account. The coalition that liberated Kuwait was built on diplomacy, patience, and allies who actually trusted each other. This one was built on insults. History doesnโ€™t repeat. But it does laugh.

Iran has kept the Straight of Hormuz toll-free for decades despite being vilified, sanctioned, and Isolated. Egypt charges $300,000 โ€“ $700,000+ per transit through the Suez Canal. Ultra-large container ships or tankers can exceed $1 million. Panama charges $150,000 โ€“ $450,000 per transit. Large Neopanamax ships cost up to $500,000+ to pass the Panama Canal. Turkey charges fees for the Bosporus Strait. Canada charges fees for the St Lawrence Seaway. The United States charges for the St Lawrence Seaway. But Iran is a bad country.
