True. I sometimes think we've already collectively messed up by calling automations (e.g. Zapier / SQL queries / Slack shortcuts...) agents in the AI world. We've also oversaturated the usage of the word assistants. Also why I loved the name Codex computer usage. Do you have any instance when users giving a name actually worked for any big brand? Think it was always the creators / innovators who did it. Speculating, would only make sense if there's a specific reason to not call them agents or assistants. Per their long term plans / vision and they plan a town or town like community vibes in future.

@_wallwalker I think you have two choices: - call it [name of company] agent or assistant - let users give it a name the whole industry calls these things agents and assistants, so you wind up confusing people making up a new noun for basically the same thing

a company just launched that calls their AI assistants "townies" biggest branding slip up since YouTube Red and Chevy No Va ("doesn't go" in spanish)

Founders! Before you go out to raise, ask all the best AI models this: "Play the role of a venture capitalist and give each startup in the XYZ [[category of your startup]] space a ranking from 1 to 10 for how much you would want to invest in them, with 1 = 'don't want to invest at all', and 10 = 'desperately want to invest'. Do deep research and give reasons." All the VCs are doing some version of this, and if you are not at the top of this list, you're going to have problems, so it might make sense to delay the raise until you can get closer to the top.
