I think old wealth hides out in the countryside.

@calvinfroedge I never understood how people could just shrug off news like "China quarantines a city of 11 million overnight". It made me go completely nuts, literally nobody in my environment believed me and thought I was crazy.

When I said in January 2020 that the world would lock down over coronavirus, I lost friends and colleagues. I was right, and they never came back later and asked how I knew. Will we lock down over hantavirus? Not sure yet, waiting on clear evidence they GoF aerosolized it.

Wealth taxes are how you turn the EU into a distressed asset for private equity acquisition. Remember: a wealth tax on unrealised gains leads to forced asset selling by average Europeans, while carve-outs exist for those using offshore corporate vehicles. Any country implementing this policy (such as the Netherlands) is engineering a market crash and distressed acquisition strategy, designed to transfer wealth from retail investors to institutions, all wrapped in a “tax the rich” narrative. As with policies like this, it will be structured to transfer wealth upward, just like the current closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This is a real endgame asset-stripping policy, deliberately designed to engineer a crisis that would otherwise have been allowed to occur through normal market corrections. Manufactured crisis is the policy. And only those with offshore corporate structures and hard money to invest during distress will survive it. Of course, if you own a money printer connected to a central bank, then you will create the money needed to acquire distressed assets and privatise the gains while socialising the losses. Everybody needs to become far more financially savvy to survive the crises these policies engineer.

@bcbweb @AndresHeeeery En Los Andes no es tan marcada la diferencia y el trato entre las personas, pero con otras culturas es abismal. Lo digo como mujer paisa que vive hace mucho por fuera de su cultura y que me ha constado mucho adaptarme, porque en general el trato es muy agresivo y violento.

A Colombia hay que balcanizarla. Las dinámicas en cada región son muy distintas y eso es insostenible. De la actual Colombia, pueden salir fácilmente unos 5 países.

Met someone recently Father of 2, works in tech sales, wife is a consultant Says “we’re actually going to move to Europe next year” I asked if they have EU passports He says no I asked which of their companies are going to transfer/sponsor them He says they’re not going to tell their employers I asked how long they planned to be in Europe then He said indefinitely… just put the kids in local schools and enjoy their mornings given the time difference.. live a “simpler life” with less stress I then explained.. almost waiting for him to reveal the joke.. that they can’t just “move to Europe” and drop their kids in school and get cheap healthcare. They need to be citizens or have visas… formally update their residency… be legitimately employed locally… not to mention legit docs for things like landlord approvals… the list went on. He wasn’t joking, apparently. This grown adult thought they could just “move to Europe” illegally… and he didn’t even think about the legality of it at all Apparently he’s a “doer” type guy who just makes things happen Good luck to him

I've never been sufficiently interested to give him a hearing before. But here he really does not sound like anyone with any serious grasp of economics/finance/etc. He struggles with some basic concepts that would be immediately understood by someone with a fraction of the background he claims. An Italian man single handedly created one quarter of all counterfeit euros circulating in Europe, from his garage in Naples. Italian Police raided his house and uncovered a sophisticated hidden printing setup located behind the garage. He had constructed a false wall mounted on rails and concealed behind a wardrobe. The entire wall slid open when activated by a simple homemade electronic switch. Behind the secret entrance officers discovered a full scale production facility equipped with 31 digital printing machines operating around the clock. This lone operator had manufactured fake banknotes in 20, 50, and 100 euro denominations totaling 11 million euros in face value. He managed to distribute eight million euros worth of these counterfeits throughout Europe with the majority passing through France. Authorities recovered an additional three million euros in completed fake notes still on the premises waiting for shipment. The European Central Bank verified that the forgeries reached an outstanding level of quality. The holograms in particular were nearly indistinguishable from those on genuine currency. The fake bills had surfaced in ten separate countries before investigators finally linked every batch to this one individual operating out of Naples.
