For Venture capital firms to benefit from this exemption, they will have to reinvest 50 percent of their proceeds from sell of their investment interest within a one year period

The aim is to subsidize venture capital firms as they remain crucial in the provision of seed capital to SMEs which are key drivers for Uganda's economy.

Developing story: @cewitug, a consortium of 6 NGOs with international election observation of elections in Africa and local observation of Uganda's last two general elections, 2011 and 2016, and bye-elections has had its data centre raided this evening by @PoliceUg.

An update on the raid of election observer group @cewitug's private tally centre at Hotel Africana, Kampala. 20 individuals have so far been arrested, laptops and other equipments confiscated by @PoliceUg. We demand for their unconditional release.
