@okcazure @Cyber_Trailer @ChuckCook Yeah - of course. Maybe Waymo is trying to assimilate too much data out so far. Could be Tesla’s more constrained approach is working better for them.

Of course they use cameras, they are needed for color information (at a minimum). Without cameras you can't read signs, see lane markings, lane lines, etc. Also Waymo's lidar and radar both see ~twice as far as Tesla HW4 cameras (400m+ vs 150m+). It's a "brain" problem for Waymo...
