@memechaotic Plead the fifth. Remain silent you have no obligation to talk to the police.

@NickyScatz The Democratic coalition included more conservatives at that time and that was good because compromising within a diverse coalition that is in power is better than being in the minority with Republicans setting the agenda

CBS NEWS POLL: Requiring photo ID to vote and proving citizenship to register both find wide and often bipartisan support among Americans, while most also say voting by mail is OK. cbsn.ws/4lDMuR0

@Homiedino I'm sure activism has its place, but "The Left" is not being well served electorally by being a party of disjoint causes. We need to form a coherent narrative that is based on principles that suggests what we would like to do with power and offer a compelling vision of the future
English

The thing I find most annoying about Palestine becoming the left’s omnicause is it has wiped out activism and messaging on nearly every other topic. Nobody talks about climate change, universal healthcare, corporate consolidation, housing, global far-right ascension, worker’s rights, you name it. Don’t get me wrong, Palestine is very important, but it’s not the only thing that matters and every unrelated group shifting their focus to Palestine effectively cedes the ground on every other issue to the right.

@JuMosq I have an idea that the bye week should always be later in the second half of the season and it should be every team all at once. Alternatively half the league off one week and the other half the next. This would be more fair to players and teams. No early byes. Who agrees?
English

@JetElectricEyes @ExistentialEnso I would like to be in a stronger coalition with "leftists" because I think they at least have their hearts in the right place across a variety of things but as a group (at least online) they are often such nasty and antisocial people and stubborn and intellectually dishonest

@AssLatam @realStevenWalk Are all the fascists in Brazil named Bolsonaro?
English

@ECaliberSeven It is not unlikely because SCOTUS is going to gut the VRA which will gift 20 seats to Republicans before the 2028 election

@willyl0wman @townmoron @RickHapp1 @CBSNews Since the report prompted a license moratorium, California has revoked over 280 hospice licenses and pursued 100+ criminal defendants, yielding convictions in cases like a November 2025 sentencing of four for a $16M scheme involving fake patient enrollments. @grok fact check me
English

@emnode @townmoron @RickHapp1 @CBSNews Wow if this was flagged 5 years ago I'm sure a lot has been done about it
So what's been done because it seems like it's rampant, easily observable and there are no consequences but you seem pretty certain that's wrong so lay it out

CBS NEWS INVESTIGATION: A salon, a modeling agency, and 89 hospices? We visited a 3-story LA building being called "ground zero" for fraud. We went to look for ourselves. cbsn.ws/4bmB3Kg

@damintoell The way he gratuitously emphasized that Epstein is dead is what sealed it for me. That's exactly what Epstein would say
English

This dude is definitely Jeffrey Epstein.
Palm Beach Pete@not_jeffepstein
Hello this Palm Beach Pete just wanted to thank everybody for the support and good vibes… I’m not Jeffrey Epstein
English

1. This CBS story is not identifying any specific fraud (or even new instances of suspected fraud) that state or federal authorities weren't already aware of
2. California's 2021-2022 state auditor report already flaged these issues. The story is using the red flags in that report
3. California already imposed a moratorium on new hospice licenses because of these findings
4. You would never know any of the above from the way CBS (and even more so Nick Shirley) are framing this as if they discovered a fresh bombshell. Do you not see that?
5. (Opinion) This is not about journalism it is about creating content for a propaganda machine
English

“I’m objecting to generating content for the right-wing.”
Yes, and media orgs listening to people like you is why journalism currently has such low public trust. Reporting facts regardless of who it helps or hurts is how it regains it.
emily@emnode
@RickHapp1 @townmoron @CBSNews Nobody likes fraud. Stop drinking MAGA media bullshit. I'm not objecting to punishing criminals. I'm objecting to generating content for the right-wing propaganda machine by literally pretending you're exposing a bombshell when youre actually just using the state's own report

English

@emnode @RickHapp1 @CBSNews Ah yes, no journalist ever reports information generated by others.
But you gave away the real problem: “generating content for the right-wing.” You are witnessing what used to be common: reporting facts regardless of who it helps or hurts.
English

@RickHapp1 @townmoron @CBSNews No that's childish and simplistic. Are you aware that there is Medicare fraud in Florida? I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you do. Why does it exist? Is it because DeSantis is allowing it? Do you begin to see how disingenuous this is?
English

@emnode @townmoron @CBSNews Also, you got love the attitude that "we already knew about this", which is actually WORSE! That means you knew and didn't bother to do anything.

@emnode @townmoron @CBSNews You claim you don't like fraud but you'll act like a child and call names when someone points out the problem.
English

@townmoron @RickHapp1 @CBSNews I am "The Left" and you definitely don't speak for me. I also don't see you "caring about frameworks." I see The Right changing what they claim to care about on a near daily basis to match whatever new bullshit Trump is saying
English

@RickHapp1 @emnode @CBSNews The right generally cares about frameworks, while the left cares only about power. That is why there is no such thing as a neutral policy for them. So they reward friends and punish enemies because they believe outcomes will solve for themselves once there is universal adherence.

English

@townmoron @emnode @CBSNews The amazing thing about the left is that all this fraud is taking resources away from the people they claim they want to help. But they don't care cause its bad optics for their side. They just want to virtue signal that they support some program so they can feel superior.
