@stormfall33 It’s not just that these dev cycles are extremely long either. You have to also consider that Todd Bethesda never launches a game that’s completely finished or polished. The modding community inevitably has to step in to fix what’s broken.

I mean, I am all for giving devs time and freedom but MAYBE 15+ years between releases of your most beloved and profitable franchises is too much? .. MAYBE?

The biggest problem with games like PoE lies in the fact that the game doesn’t teach new players why this helmet is valuable @pathofexile largely offloads new player onboarding onto the community, which sucks Just b/c it’s been that way for 10 years doesn’t make it good design

Finally caught the Sony State of Play and the only exclusive that interested me was Wolverine Other than the Dave the Diver prequel and No Rest For the Wicked (which will both be on PC), I thought the rest of the show was extremely lackluster

I will never understand why people say the Witcher is overrated. The Witcher made me believe in gaming again, for a time I didn’t know if I would find a game series that would evoke so much emotion in me again, since before that, it was Mass Effect. It’s a masterpiece.

@stormfall33 One of the rare games where higher difficulty forced me to engage with the entire suite of combat mechanics and was better for it. Combat never felt great, but compared to CDPR’s earlier efforts, just being serviceable felt like a masterpiece.

Witcher 3 is in my top 5 games of all time. Beat it on death march. The combat is pretty ass. The constant top tier writing is why its so good. You keep playing for the next part of the story not the next combat encounter.

I totally understand everyones excitement as they love the Witcher. But if given the choice wouldn’t you rather see the Witcher 4 a couple years further along its development cycle instead?

@RevolverJerm I’ll go one better. Alien Isolation was a great 25-30 hour game that would’ve been an exceptional 15 hour game. Some games overstay their welcome, even great ones.

Uncharted 4 was 15 hours and no one complained saying that was too short. Gamers have become entitled brats lol.
