@chrisgambler247 The trough needs to be taken away from these people. Common sense costs nothing. It's staggering how much money is being wasted on gambling reform.

Migrants must be delighted that people are giving them a break from getting the blame for everything, while we focus on taking money off disabled people. Maybe one day it will be the turn of the tax-dodging corporations, the poverty wage payers and the profiteering supermarkets.

@SBCinfo Yep. Best way to tackle the black market is let punters get a decent bet on in the regulated market without being treated like a child.

"In November's budget, the Gambling Commission received an extra £26 million to tackle black market betting" The horse has bolted on this and the LEAST they can do now is scrap affordability checks before it makes it even worse.

The UK government and Gambling Commission have promised to crack down further on illegal bookmakers following an investigation that revealed social media platforms and online influencers were driving people to the black market racingpost.com/news/britain/g…

@BarstewardsThe Spot on. I would add don't post screen shots of cropped Bet 365 betting slips showing winnings of hundreds of pounds. Nearly as bad as booming. And don't advise odds that are only available to the cleaner for a nanosecond.

Barstewards Twitter Tipster Guide - 20 years experience If you’re good enough, you’re good enough, the bottom line will sing a hymn to all. Do not BOOM winners, as if tipping a winner is the be all and end all. Losing runs are brutal, most new customers will last about 6 bets and judge you on that, it’s the way it is. Do not tip a horse where a stable has another fancied runner, if the other one wins you are toast. Don’t tip monster prices, if you’ve an edge, most can’t get on and taking 20/1 instead of 33/1 is 13pts over a year. Keeping a client is better than gaining a client, you do this by lower draw downs and tipping at shorter odds. When you approach 5 or 6 losers in a row look for the ALAN CORK, feel your customers bank rolls. Tipping is not the same as personal betting. When on a good run expand a bit, try and tip a big race winner, worth more to them on ITV in a big race. Remember punters have a low tolerance level to losing runs. Wishing all you younglings all the best, take this on board, if you’re good enough you will succeed. We keep 60% of our punters with the above advice, very difficult to do.

You can tell you are enduring a shitty run betting when you are celebrating a void bet as its 'better than another loser' To quote Ian Holloway, my luck is so bad if I fell in a barrel of boobs, id come up sucking my thumb

Start to turf flat season is baffling. After two days of turf flat racing at Doncaster, there are two turf flat meetings in the next eight days. And thirteen all weather.

“For our brain, a loss carries roughly twice the weight of a gain.” This is why most bettors fail. Our 4,000 bet review of @winnerodds & their follow up emails both point to the same thing: It’s not just the edge. It’s whether you can stick with it smartbettingclub.com/blog/winner-od…

There's seem to have been a proliferation of scam tipsters on Twitter these past few months. And they all seem to have accounts with Bet 365 and Sky Bet. Must be the easiest slips to fake!

@chrisgambler247 And always the first week after Cheltenham if I remember correctly. Remember backing Mind Games in the Brocklesbury back in the 90's. Jack Berry had his horses so far forward you could make money backing them blind early in the season.

is CONSTITUTION HILL a back or a lay tomorrow night at the current 1.2/1.21 on Betfair? £10k already matched. Expect it to be over a million traded by off time at those prices.

6 years ago, the Gambling Commission was asked why harm rates weren’t falling. The answer was more intervention and better systems. 6 years on, and many new regulations later, harm is still broadly flat. At what point do we question whether regulation can materially reduce population harm?

If people want to play online slots with no stake limits they will. No amount of nanny state interventions will stop them. All the limits do is drive play to the unregulated market and take tax revenue and harm levy money with it.
Matt Zarb-Cousin@mattzarb

@Josh_DTM @cleanupgambling @gambanapp @GambleWithLives So allow the industry to continue making record profits while the harm continues, just make sure people harmed get treatment after they’ve gone broke? No prevention policies at all? You would even abandon stake limits for online slots as that’s a “whole population” intervention?

'Calls for affordability plans to be rethought amid fears 120,000 will face checks' 2 years ago many people, included myself, said this would be the result of the affordability checks pilot. 2 years wasted whilst the focus should have have been on a machine learning patterns of play harm detection system.
