Decided to combine the Yamnaya Core samples on AADR v66 and calculate proportions. the UNHG/N admixed samples are almost entirely under I-M233.

@Dfire8801 @philosofveritas @IllyrianJ2bL283 Ignoring the slop arguements the implication for me is that there was a group north of NMD IA that had geneflow with Paenonians that is the pop we're looking for IA wise And it doesn't seem to be Cinamak. Perhaps Dardania proper? Also didn't Glinoe get a lot of matches?

@philosofveritas @IllyrianJ2bL283 Do you actually expect modern populations to share considerable amounts of IBD with populations from 3000 years ago? Anyways tell me where thracians are at.

Illyrian-Messapian Art from Apulia These artifacts belong to the Iapygians (Messapians, Peucetians, Daunians) – an ancient people with clear Illyrian origins. They migrated across the Adriatic Sea from the Balkans to southern Italy and maintained a distinct culture. 1. Messapian Bell Crater (4th century BC) from Roca – three veiled figures in the typical Messapian style. 2. Anthropomorphic Daunian Stele (c. 610–550 BC) – one of the finest examples of geometric Illyrian-Messapian art with meanders, hands, and symbols. 3. Peucetian Women in Chorea (a round dance) – Iapygian women were known for their magnificent traditional garments, headdresses, and jewelry with Illyrian influences. 4. Coin from Oria – one of the oldest Messapian cities. The front depicts Hercules (Heracles). The Messapians spoke Messapic, a distinct Indo-European language with strong connections to ancient Illyrian and Proto-Albanian. Their culture is closely related to the Illyrian peoples of the Balkans. A true Illyrian gem in Italy! #Illyrians #Messapians #Iapygers #Daunians #Messapic #Illyrian #AncientIllyria #BalkanRoots

Modelling the ancestry of the European-Med Jews using G25. Experiments with a few models. Ashkenazi Jews score around 22-23% ancient Levantine ancestry. European-Med Jews seem to have mainly mixed with the Hellenistic and Roman era Greeks of Italy and Greece-Anatolia rather than the Latin Italians. They don't even score much Urbino in other models, which represent the local Latin Italians of central Italy. Ashkenazi Jews have as much Levantine as they have North-Central or east European, so they are not just "European" genetically, they have both.

@CsfHighlan97034 I thought Basques were on par with Brits at a minimum or does this split WHG via EHG?

@Kar_year_1785 @m_izanami_ @nrken19 Agreed. My main gripe with Thracians atm is where the hell their EEF came from I did some digging and the EEF culture that spawned them was wiped out by the MBA and they seem to be more EEF than the preceeding Ezero culture was.

@Kar_year_1785 @m_izanami_ @nrken19 Thracian IBD sharing is decently high with BA Anatolians but with Myceneans it's almost none. Their share seems to be with Isparta BA and Ilipnar Chalcolithic types.

@lezagacy Should more-so been something obvious from the get-go given how subpar models using an Eastern Balkan source are.

Amongst the un-labeled samples of the Akbari 2026 anonymized datasets there have been a plethora of BA-IA Balkan related samples. Here are I43811 under E-V13>Z5018>FGC11451 and I44248 under E-V13>Z5017>CTS9320 Combined these lineages are 12% of the Albanian Y-Chr genepool.
