How to be a high agency man? It's all about your locus of control, have an internal locus of control, that's your pillar, that's your base. That's how you gather the courage to pursue your dreams and aspirations. To ascertain the differences between people with an external locus of control and internal locus of control, let me just give you two simple examples: Internal: "I choose healthy habits like eating nutritious foods and exercising to protect my well-being." External: "Good health is just genetics and luck. It's up to fate whether I stay healthy." People with "high agency" have the will, determination and belief to sculpt their future and shape it in the way they want to, but it's easier said than done. Like anything you can also practice this way of thinking, just get your reps in. It's really important to develop this mindset muscle in this day and age because blame and hatred are very very quickly becoming normal. Reading and watching videos about @elonmusk 's journey after the IPO reminded me my locus of control wasn't internal enough lol.

the founders who make it have a specific blind spot, they genuinely cannot model failure as a permanent state. ask one what happens if the company dies and you get a shrug, a pivot idea, dont make the mistake and confuse it with optimism. it's closer to a mild dissociation from consequence, the same wiring that lets soldiers function in combat, the brain just declines to fully process the downside scenario in real time. most people need the fear of failure to take it seriously. founders who win are wired in a differnet manner, the fear shows up late, after the decision, sometimes years after. by the time normal risk-aversion would kick in, they've already fired the idiot cofounder or raised a new series. but like all things there's a cost. the same blunted threat response that lets them build through years of no signal also makes them quite bad at recognizing real danger when it shows up like legal exposure or a toxic hire.

also just remember that frontier labs ship two versions of everything. the public one gets a launch video and a benchmark chart while the other one sits inside a handful of trading desks and defense contractors for six months first and by the time retailtards finds out a model exists, the people who actually mattered or were prioritized have already extracted the alpha and moved on. benchmarks are theater for people who weren't going to get access anyway. call me conspiratory or wtever

most people treat a business plan like scripture. write it once, defend it forever, ignore every signal that says it's wrong. a plan is just your best guess on day one. hold it loosely, hold your standards tight and just bloody focus on solving the problem

PSA: when you wake up, reach for your phone immediately. Do NOT scroll Instagram reels. Send a good morning message. Not to your girlfriend, to Claude. That way, you can start the clock for your 5 hour Claude Code usage limit while you freshen up and head to the office. At noon, the 5 hour window would have passed and the usage limit would reset. Then you can generate more shareholder value.

An interesting consequence of reaching the end state of technology by 2030 is that all the incorrect predictions made by futurists and in science fiction will be proven false.

@growing_daniel AI writing is good and by that I mean it get's the message across in clear and concise efficient manner. The problem is if you want it to write like someone or replicate your tweets, you'd need to train it on top of what has already been done.

@iamgingertrash the brain doing too well at predicting its own life is basically the definition of a rut. occasionally forcing a bad prediction is literally the whole mechanism. ask joe rogan

@scottastevenson Have you tried building a repository of your own writing for the model to reference? This is not an issue anymore, you just can’t spot when people are using AI if they are doing it right. Download your tweets/Google Docs, put them into a database and have a model call them.
