Running 6.46 to almost break the NCAA 60m record then casually walking directly over to the long jump runway is crazy work 🤣

The 1k King 👑 Tinoda Matsatsa improved and re-set his NCAA 1,000m record. He ran 2:16.84 to win the Nittany Lion Challenge. He also led his teammate, Abel Teffa, to a 2:17.39 finish for second. They are the only two collegians in NCAA History to break 2:18. Matsatsa's previous mark was 2:18.05.

@Carl_Lewis @usatf I appreciate you speaking up and using your voice. We need to put our athletes in opportunities to shine, not get embarrassed. I have so much respect for Kenny and Christian. Both of them are incredible athletes. It was clear they have not practiced enough exchanges.

It is time to blow up the system. This continues to be completely unacceptable. It is clear that EVERYONE at @usatf is more concerned with relationships than winning. No athlete should step on the track and run another relay until this program is changed from top to bottom.
Carl Lewis@Carl_Lewis

If @TeamUSA wins all relays tomorrow, you talk to the athletes. If something happens and they do not sweep. ONLY talk to the coaches. Yes, I said it!!!

A week after unfortunately missing the cut for Nationals by less than a quarter-second, Georgetown freshman 🇺🇸Tinoda Matsatsa goes 1:45.17 in the 800m at a meet at Penn. It’s almost a 1.5 second PB for Matsatsa and the 2nd fastest time by a collegian this year.

You soon can take the Powerline Trail soon from South Germanton Recreational Park to Cabin John Regional Park! It’ll happen with $10 million in funding from the state of Maryland. Thanks to Delegate @mkorman for his support on this project: mocoparks.org/2RoLmGR.

@Predamame This is spot on. You should have posted this before Penn Relays to show how on brand it is.

Stop making this mistake with your starts — Athletes are often told to “stay low” or that they need to take “big long strides” While there are cases where these can work, more often than not it leads to a whole bunch of problems Athletes start to overstride They strike on their heels Their posture is smoked Now they’re not only slower, but little aches and pains start to pop up Shin splints. Hamstrings. Knees. All of those heavy heel foot contacts add up eventually So what should you be doing? 1) Stay off those heels 2) Rise like an airplane 3) Step down It’s that simple. If you can do these 3 things, you’ll become a better accelerator. Want to get faster? I’ve got a 40yd dash program made to help athletes of all levels improve their speed, power, and performance. Comment the word “FAST” below and I’ll send you a link to try it out! Make sure you’re following so I can message you.

AND THE PLOT THICKENS 😈 @__coleman turns the tables on U.S. champ @LylesNoah, using his signature start to open a gap his rival in the final of the @wicglasgow24 60m to take the win in a world-leading 6.41. In the last 3 indoor championships, Coleman has now finished 🥇, 🥈, 🥇.

World Athletics has also announced that starting in 2025 the outdoor track and field season will end at the World Championships. From their announcement: "This will create a season-long narrative that builds to the natural crescendo of the World Athletics Championships each year, while at the same time allowing for a more consistent global calendar to be established. Each season from 2025 onwards will end with the World Athletics Championships, meaning there is a clear season climax during a defined window in mid-September." 📸 @jzsnapz

@TheRealMerb Or will we see a company that will 3D print/make a super shoe based on a runner’s individual specs. Bet that shoe could cost less than the Pro Evo 1.

Trend Prediction: Not every super shoe is ideal for every type of stride and at some point brands are going to start marketing them for specific foot strikes depending on how runners strike the ground and some other differentiator like body weight or pronation

@pgliljedahl If you had some grant money to travel anywhere and explore the connection between thinking classroom and play, where would you go? Who does math play really well? Bonus if there is also some CS added in. Thx
