@barrymc0ckner Given your demeanor I’m not sure your life would improve very much even if we deported all H1Bs

Basically over this time period nothing has gotten better. We should not be mass importing Indians it is totally ridiculous as an industrial strategy and the only reason it is happening is to increase university revenues, meet former DEI quotas, satisfy nepotistic Indian hiring managers, make corporate workers easier to control, get reciprocal Indian market access deals for corporations, and suppress wages Enough

I regret interacting with this immigration nonsense. Nothing of value has been added to my life and my feed is flooded with it now.

@barrymc0ckner Did you read the chart you sent me? Where do you think the US Asians at the top line come from? My guy if the case you are making is we need to restrict immigration I don’t really care. But showing a picture of US Asians as top scorers might be counterproductive

@randominv3str No I’m just right By law US citizens have priority to these jobs. We have the most talent natively yet many IT, coding and computing professionals can’t find work due to efforts to suppress wages etc Elite talent has nothing to do with the millions that are here on H-1Bs

Such a bizarre reaction. This must be a sensitive topic

@randominv3str Read the article. Silicon Valley was founded largely by transplants from the US Midwest. You only imply its domestic operations depends on foreign labor because you’re an ignorant and overly opinionated asshole Go read a book

That being said, he’s right in that ethnicity adjusted US educated individuals outscore their overseas counterparts. I don’t know how much of that is selection effects vs the quality of US schooling

@RodriGo_ethe @FriendlyCapMgmt Claude estimated around 20% ceiling?Dunno seems plausible to be. So this drop is pricing in a full retreat from Hong Kong, losing 20% of Singapore. Adjusting for cash post fine u get the rest of the biz for like 200 mil USD? I dunno this seems pretty draconian.

@randominv3str @FriendlyCapMgmt Yeah, in this case, Chinese mainlanders with a Singapore visa. How many are there in TIGR? Probably ok to buy the dip and sell for a bounce, but zero confidence on what the medium or long term path is.

So $TIGR in total has to pay $60m USD (less than 10% of cash balance) and shut down ca 6bn AuM (10% of total)… In exchange the regulatory overhang is now lifted for good and the stock is at like 5x PE with a few bucks of cash per share to spare? Do I see this right?

Maybe I’m just salty cuz I sold $NYAX earlier this year to buy SaaS and payment garbage but why does this company trade at such a premium? Are we going to bid this up to $SHOP levels? It’s not that different from $FOUR, $TOST, $4477 etc

I’m just a tourist but $FUTU and $TIGR seem like over reactions? Fines are tiny and mainland assets are 13% and 10% respectively? Ex mainland growth should make that up in like a quarter. At the risk of getting burnt by the CCP I’ll start small positions

@RodriGo_ethe @FriendlyCapMgmt From Claude the HK profits of $TIGR are basically 0 since they are in growth mode. So the current profits are from Singapore + maybe Australia? Idk stock feels cheap even if you assume a full retreat from Hong Kong is necessary. Might be different for $FUTU

Good rule of thumb, if a tech company has an animal in their logo you should probably buy their stock. Datadog, Posthog, Crowdstrike, Vanta, Jfrog Many others I’m sure
