Democrats’ refusal to fund CBP and ICE is beyond dangerous. DHS was created after 9/11 based on lessons learned from the attack itself. To my House colleagues: FISA is an essential program that gives us situational awareness, and eyes and ears on the bad guys who are foreign nationals and want to harm the United States. Shutting this program down – given the threats we face – would be a dereliction of duty. Shutting down FISA and failing to fund DHS is a lethal cocktail that entices our adversaries to be more aggressive and I fear it will lead to another 9/11 style attack.
