@tokyonosensei @stephendziedzic I could have been clearer when I said "government-run" but my main point is that the Singaporean government's multicultural policy is a lot more interventionist than Barnaby Joyce or most One Nation voters (or Australians) would tolerate.

Curious. One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce is asked about the message from the party's smashing victory in Farrer. Joyce **again** pivots to Singapore, which he suggests has managed its economy and social integration more effectively, which means it has a "future"

🚨 The Australian Federal Police have confirmed they will charge two returning 'ISIS brides' with crimes against humanity, including enslavement. A third 'ISIS bride' is facing charges for membership of a terrorist organisation. The arrests come after the return of four 'ISIS brides' and nine of their children to Australia from a camp in Syria. Meanwhile, the Anthony Albanese Labor government is scrambling to control the narrative after Syrian officials claimed that efforts to return the 'ISIS brides' were led by Australia, a claim strongly denied by DFAT. UAE IS SET TO RAMP UP OIL PRODUCTION FROM MAY 1 The UAE is preparing to boost output after leaving OPEC+. As part of OPEC+, the UAE was capped at roughly 3.5M barrels/day. But now, the UAE’s Energy Minister says the country can scale production to as much as 6M barrels/day if needed. That’s a massive jump. And it gives the UAE far more flexibility to capitalize on higher prices and capture market share. Here are the 4 main reasons the UAE chose to leave OPEC: 1. Output freedom 2. Revenue maximization 3. Strategic independence 4. Greater market leverage In simple terms: Leaving OPEC means the UAE no longer has to follow production quotas.

UAE DECIDES TO EXIT OPEC AND OPEC+ Here's the reason behind their move: The US-Iran war. There was key frustration over weak political/military support from GCC and Arab states against Iranian attacks/threats. There has also been longstanding quota disputes with Saudi Arabia. After a 59 year membership, UAE will no longer be part of the OPEC. Effective May 1. Here's how UAE was contributing to OPEC: 1. They pump roughly 3.2 million barrels a day. 2. That's about 10% of OPEC's total output. But the barrel count isn't the real story here. The UAE has been quietly furious about OPEC+ production caps for years. In 2021, they nearly blew up the whole alliance pushing for a higher baseline. This is a big shift for the oil market.
