Dedicating this award to the memory of my aunt who passed away last September leaving a huge gap in our lives. I am immensely grateful to my students and to my colleagues who put so much faith in me and awarded me this high honor 💕🙏🏽💕

I don't recall ever receiving pushback from people in those parts of the world when I use it. Collective non-West is too integrated into Russian and Chinese state discourse/propaganda, so I only use this phrase when talking about Russia/China
