Has there been any answer on how @MLB calculates their >.500 record? The Reds are very much not 1-2 vs. teams >.500, like not even relatively close by any way you measure it.

@weatherposts @ChrisMartzWX I never said it was a good plan. Don't blame Boomers for a policy put in place before they were born. We were stuck with it, just like you. Yes, it is a ponzi scheme. The way to resolve it is to let new contributions go into 401K like accounts, and use taxes to cover the gap.

Everyone who has “paid into” Social Security has been *forcibly* conned out of money. I fully agree. But young people like me are ALSO being conned out of money by having to pay for boomers’ retirement with the FICA. The takeaway from this is that the federal government should have nothing to do with retirement savings. The feds should not be able to take your money, spend it, then give you checks using money from currently working Americans.

I’ve saved my money. I’m bitchin because they are using my money to fund their pet projects. It’s the worst savings plan on the planet. If I invested the money I’ve contributed to social security , I’d have 5 times as much money as I will be getting from the government when I retire

If we have to pay property taxes on our land and vehicles (in some states) even after paying the loans off, then why not mandate property tax on everything else you own? Clothes. Cookware. Your bed sheets. Seems to me that many alleged “conservatives” are siding with the left and are defending the indefensible. There should only be a sales tax at the time of purchase federally and at each state level. If sales taxes and tariffs cannot generate enough revenue to fund federal and state government services, then they are spending too much money, are too bloated, and need to be downsized with a metaphorical axe. It’s as simple as that.

I’ve owned a business since 1999 and I pay taxes on everything. Wheel tax for my trucks, dot fees, excise fees for my vehicle plates, property tax, match my own fica tax through my SCorp, Capital gains, income tax, sales tax, tangible personal property tax. Sales tax on gas, excise tax on gas, county tax, and state income tax. The government is a big Ponzi scheme.

Think about this: • Work hard and earn money? Federal income tax. Then it’s taxed again in many states. • Put that money in a savings account and earn interest? Income tax. • Invest money? Capital gains tax. • Inherit money? Inheritance tax. • Inherit property? Estate tax. • Own land? Property tax by your county (and if you’re in a town / city, even more property tax). • Own a car? Property tax again. • Drive the car? Gas tax. Registration fees. Tolls. • Own a successful business? Corporate income tax. We are being scammed. The government (federal, state, and local) legally steals from us so long as we continue to put up with it.

Billionaires pay far more in taxes than anyone else does, but even so, most of their money is tied up in stocks and ownership in companies. Jeff Bezos, as per your example, does not have anything close to $222 billion in liquid assets on hand. If you want to use a fraction of that $222 billion to fund insulin in the United States, then do your damn job and call on your colleagues in the Senate to allocate OUR tax dollars for it. Get off of social media and do something to stop enabling fraud, then work to balance the budget, and put the federal government's tax revenue to good use instead of worrying about what rich people do with their own money that you didn't earn and aren't entitled to have access to.

I’ve started rewatching survivor and seasons 1 and 2 are so good. The conditions were just brutal for these players. No advantages just pure game play and I love it. Season 3 they switched up tribes to shake it up and that was the start of where we are at now. There was so much more skill involved to win early in The show. now there is more luck than skill involved with about 20 twists advantages and idols. I miss the purity of the early days of survivor. These new players wouldn’t last two weeks under the conditions these older contestants endured in the first few seasons.

How embarrassing to lose an icon of old school #Survivor in Colby to this random twist, with no room to play, no vote from a journey. What an indictment on the new era. I loved the way Colby tried to wield his power as an asset, not a threat, & how he left with his trademark poignancy #Survivor50
