As long as the player uses 1 hand and does not carry the ball on the initial save and retrieval then you can’t call a double dribble

This was called a backcourt violation. The ball never goes backcourt. The offensive player establishes himself in the front court with two feet prior to touching the ball. That’s a bad call.

@cchoka @mitchgoldich It was smart to keep the throw-ins in the backcourt. A front court throw in with a few seconds left and fouls to give has the possibility of a shooting foul so non-shooting fouls are hard at that point.

@DrewThatsWho @BadCallOfficial You can also save the ball from going out of bounds and be the first one to touch it if your momentum takes you out of bounds and you re-establish back in bounds. Why do you pretend to know the rules when you haven’t read a rule book?

@BadCallOfficial You have never been able to save the ball and be the first person to touch it. Once you cross half court, it essentially becomes a fourth out-of-bounds line and the rules still apply.

After getting treated to Vanderbilt-Nebraska last night, we were due for a slugfest. This has been a brutal watch to be honest. I suppose you could say good defense but this is a pretty ugly game to watch

Part 1: This map should help illustrate why picking neutral sites in South Jersey Non-Public A is a difficult task. Used the boys for the example. The green are schools classified in North while the Red are schools classified in South.

The way I’m about to crash out at the NJSIAA is insane. They really moved our game to Lenape thus having the 1 seed travel over an hour(which we do either way) to play the 2 seed who only is 30 minutes away from Lenape is blasphemy. This is ridiculous.

@JamieShaw5 NJ public has 4 sections per group and 4 groups (based on enrollment). Each can call themselves a state sectional champion Throw in 2 x 2 for non-public and you get 4 more So 20 champions. (That’s just boys) They continue playing through for Group and entire state champions

This season, North Carolina will have 8 boys public school state champions 8 girls public school state champions 4 boys private school state champions 4 girls private school state champions 24 total high school basketball state champions 👀 Does any other state have this many?

Very interesting rule loophole here from Charleston... With 1.9 seconds remaining Charleston has a player right on the ball, reaching over the end line ready to receive it. The defense tips it away, and the referee assesses a delay of game warning--if I understand correctly, the rules allow the offense to reach over the end line but NOT the defense. UNC Wilmington is forced to allow the inbounds pass and foul.

This is funny (in response to Kipp’s crazy schedule) and something I think about regularly. You wonder how many often there are travel issues for referees and there has to be a last minute sub (where we in the public don’t even know the replacement happened).

New strategy! Up 1 with 1.9 left. CC inbounds ball. Their player stood just inbounds with his arms extended over baseline. Made pass to him and defender reached over line to deflect ball. Delay of game. CCdid same thing and UNCW alllowed pass-had to foul. A loophole in rules!!
