I actually think the best case for Mamdani is that Lander and Valdez win, and Chevalier loses. That loss will be a small setback. If she wins and stays in the public eye, she will continue to say batshit stuff that he will be called on to rebuke or explain forever and ever.

I covered the Bernie Sanders/Zohran Mamdani rally in Brooklyn yesterday. The major question will be whether Mamdani's three endorsed congressional candidates win next week. There's a real shot he goes 3-3. The disaster scenario, for him, would be 1-3.

Bernie is a truly pernicious force in Democratic politics. I think politicians should retire younger, but think about all the money that flows into competitive primaries in safe seats when he could be targeting Republicans.
