There’s a description of armed conflicts as arcs spiraling upwards, a small skirmish becomes major mobilization becomes battle lines becomes total war… TDS seems to work the same way. What starts as a personal dislike of his style ends up as prayers that US service men are captured and tortured by the enemy and it’s not easy to see at point A you’d end at point Z but it keeps happening.

It is vital to know why limiting principles exist before removing them.
For example, there are Starbursts in the reception desk candy dish. I love Starbursts and would snag some from the candy dish at least once, usually twice a day.
A few weeks ago, I decided that I, an adult capable of providing for my own needs, would buy my own bag of Starbursts to keep in my office for my consumption instead of taking them from the receptionist candy dish.
Well. Apparently the limiting principles on how many Starbursts I will eat in a day are 1. laziness of having to walk to the reception desk to get them and II. shame in how many I would take in a day.
