Why are people saying it's expensive to insure a Tesla? I insure a Cybertruck and a Model Y. Two drivers, full coverage with towing and rental for just over $200 a month. People are always shocked when I tell them that. They expected it to be way more. The insurance cost is one of the biggest myths holding people back from buying a Tesla. How much do you pay to insure yours?

@LamarMK Electricity has to be cheaper for adoption. Here in Maine it's "currently" 34 cents kwh with no off peak rates. Gas is $3.50 so it's cheaper to drive hybrid plus no range anxiety which is huge in brutal winters. It's nice starting full charge, but it often doesn't last the day.

I still don't know why more people haven't switched to EVs yet. I made the switch from gas to a Tesla in 2023 and you could never get me to buy a gas car again. Cheap to charge at home. No maintenance except washer fluid and tire rotations. Inexpensive insurance. The savings are huge. You can literally use what you save to pay or offset your entire car payment. Once you make the switch you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. What's holding you back from going electric?

@OverlyTrev The Camry is far cheaper to run per mile here in Maine. Electricity is up to 36cents kwh with no off peak rates available. Home charging is expensive and gas is cheap. Zero Tesla models hit the top 10 vehicles sold in this state.

You can buy a Tesla Model 3 for the same price as a Toyota Camry. The Tesla wipes the floor with any version of the Camry and can drive itself. EV skeptics will say anything to misinform people. Tesla.com

Tesla Self-Driving sucks and doesn't work. This compressed video shows 90 minutes of Tesla's V14.2.2.5 moving through the heart of Philadelphia, and back to the suburbs for some errands. As you watch this clip, you'll start to realize that Tesla's goal of autonomy at-scale is very far from here, and probably won't ever actually happen. The entire charade is nonsense. Tesla cars have level 2 ADAS just like SuperCruise and BlueCruise. Yes, your Chevy Silverado does do this. More music by the homie @StainlessOne

Trust me, you will never miss filling up gas again once you own an EV. Today, I woke up and this Tesla was fully charged. From 50% to 100%, it only cost $1 USD.

Tesla needs to continue to evolve their Self-Driving pricing model to increase adoption. With a product this good, sales should be going vertical. It's time to ask some hard questions about what's not working. What do you all think?

Everyone is going to want a ~$30K Tesla Cybercab when it becomes available. Tesla will sell millions of these: • Magnitude safer than human driving. • Have the ability to legally sleep as it’s driving you. • Operating costs could drop to as low as $0.20 per mile. • Great for elderly individuals who are no longer able to drive, as well as people with disabilities. • Work as are you being driven, or watch movies/play games. • Send off to run errands (pick up kids, pick up someone at the airport, etc). • The ability to add/subtract from the Tesla Robotaxi fleet to earn passive income. • Send to pick up groceries, or other orders. • Have the ability to send home after getting dropped off your location, eliminating the need for parking. • Send for service autonomously when needed. • Virtually Zero Maintenance. This car will revolutionize transportation, and car ownership.

FSD is only adopted by a small % of people who buy a Tesla - and that's only 2% of people who buy a car. Clearly this is a combination of the consumer not seeing the value - even at $99/month - and not being aware. Tesla is trying to increase awareness with some ads - but it's not nearly enough - but the rate limiter is that most early adopters have been converted and FSD still needs to get a lot better before it goes mainstream.
Tesla@Tesla

FSD Supervised isn’t limited to select highways or specific conditions – it works wherever it’s available It can handle your daily commute or drive you across the country

Charging an EV is not like refuelling. You don’t “go somewhere” to charge. You plug in at home. Game changer once you understand this. ....but some.. still won't.

It really is bizarre. Most of my friends don't have FSD (or a Tesla). And it is the single biggest lifestyle difference between us. They drive their cars. My car drives me. They don't get how much--even at its current capability-level--the product changes life-feel. FSD truly is a mass luxury product. That it is still so narrowly enjoyed is mind-bending.

Insurance for my 2026 Model Y AWD was about to be $310 a month at Nationwide. I said there was no way in hell I was paying that. For reference: - Live in NC - Been driving since I was 15 with a learner's permit, so over 17 years now. - Never had any points on my license. - Never had a ticket, EVER! - Never been in an accident while driving my vehicle or anyone else’s. When I went to my local GEICO office, they told me I could pay $150 a month or do their Drive Easy program where they measure your driving based on speed, acceleration, braking, and many other factors. I chose Drive Easy for a simple reason: I use FSD for 98%+ of my driving. Since I have had Drive Easy: - My score is 95+ because I use FSD. - I pay $125 a month. - This is full coverage. People were calling me a liar, saying I’m paid by an insurance company to say what I’m saying 🤣 Why would I lie? In the near future, insurance will be very low because self-driving cars just won’t crash, and the more self-driving cars there are on the road, the fewer manual drivers there are, meaning fewer crashes total.

Dumping Tesla insurance after 3 months. It has increased 48% in that time, based on <30 minutes of manual driving (mostly map-related disengagements) in 3000 miles. It now exceeds GEICO (which we left) even with 16 year old son. So disappointed. @elonmusk you gotta fix this, man.

@AltonsRoar @BTCBreadMan You have to be on the proper electricity plan and your rates per kWh will be significantly lower. My rates overnight are between 1-2 cents per kWh and like 3-4 cents in peak times. Saves a ton and even more when gas prices rise

My best friend is 36 years old. He drives a gas car, which means his life gets more expensive as oil prices go up. I told him he should buy a Tesla so that his life is no longer affected by oil prices, but he thinks Teslas are gay. How can I help him understand that he’s dumb?
