Today I learned the Mormons GENUINELY think they know Scripture better than us.

@LtRevDan Sure you can, the Creed isn't scripture. How do you reconcile the whole Sola Scriptura thing with the demand that believers align with statements never included with the Bible?

Idl who needs to hear this but you CANNOT reject the Nicene creed and call yourselves Christian sorry!

@Fair_and_Biased Compare traditional Christian beliefs (subjected to centuries of debate in committees) to a gospel restored by direct revelation thru a living prophet? Hardly seems fair.

Why are Mormons trying so hard to get us to call them Christians when they don’t consider us Christians? A foundational Mormon belief is that they ALONE are the restored church following a Great Apostasy. They view us as sincere and having a form of faith – but not the true church. They believe we lack authority, blessing, priesthood, and the full Gospel. We believe that while also sincere and having a form of faith, they have added to and subtracted from the Gospel. So how can we solve this? Read the Gospel! Compare traditional Christian belief and Mormonism to the Gospel, and find your answer.

Mormonism is not Christianity. Christianity is Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Cristus, Soli Deo Gloria. Many religions contain Christ; but, Christ is not central. To be a Christian, Christ must be central and the sole source of salvation. Salvation is then evidenced by obedience to God's word—The Bible. By this definition, the Catholic Church is not Christian because veneration is given to men and to Mary. Research for yourself. Important differences...

@seanryanlayton No, what they call the Trinity is a mess of psuedo-Christian nonsense cooked up by intellectual lightweights trying to satisfy several competing human philosophies.

All 90% of creedal Christians hear when Latter-day Saints say "the trinity is evil" or "we reject the trinity" is "we don't believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost." Nothing could be farther from the truth. What they call the trinity, we call the Godhead.

@realDrTT @DescendingChime If you read them carefully, you'll notice that the Testimony of Three Witnesses is spiritually-based and the Testimony of Eight Witnesses is physically-based.

I read the Intro to the Book of Mormon. Here's my reflections: Right off the bat, there's a lot of things that I don't understand about LDS and Mormonism — and reading the intro certainly has illustrated that for me. The testimony of the 11 witnesses is interesting. I am not sure what to make of it yet. It seems a bit overkill. Like, there's sincere doubt that this text will be taken seriously. At the end of the Testimony of the Three Witnesses sounds very familiar: "And the honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God. Amen." Ultimately, one thing that really stood out to me was this: "We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true." This put me at ease, as it is an invitation to review and question it. I'm going to continue reading at some point tomorrow afternoon. Thanks to those of you who listened in and especially those of you who are members of the LDS faith. I am sure I'll have lots of questions.

Why do Mormons even want to be called Christian’s? I mean they clearly have a different version of Jesus, and theology as a whole.

@Toneskeee Don't get too excited, these scriptures have been thrown at us for decades. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to grow around the world.

Imagine how many Mormons are being given Scripture to counter their false views today. Which will take root. And Jesus will save them. I’m low key stoked about this.

The United States has 16 territories with over 3.5 million people who cannot vote in the US general elections. Is the US an apartheid state because the citizens of Puerto Rico, Guam, and American Samoa can't vote in the US General elections?
