Fetterman and Sinema are interesting case studies in centrist brain. Here you have the two examples of centrist politics that actually exist and both are massively despised and have failed at moving anyone from the right. Yet groups like third way pretend they don’t exist.

The past 2 weeks, the same Dems who forced Liz Cheney on us, refused to have a single Palestinian speaker at the DNC, and continue going on Bill Maher's show without ever once pushing back on his racism and Islamophobia, have been OBSESSED with Hasan Piker. They realize they no longer control the majority or the party. Curious if they will adapt or try to burn it all down. I predict the latter.

"[The Iron Dome] costs about $100 million a year. So I don't understand why [Israel] can't fund it. They've got a $45 billion defense budget." Rep. @RoKhanna shares his view with @mehdirhasan on US funding for Israel’s Iron Dome.

"This was a country that defeated the Soviet Union, unfortunately..." Hasan Piker is a psychopath.

“She’s worried that she might not have space in the party. She’s worried that a party that has me in the tent is going to not cater to her – it’s going to cater to us.” — Hasan Piker on anti-Trump Republican strategist Sarah Longwell, who has backed Democratic candidates in recent elections and argued on The Bulwark podcast that Democrats should shun Piker, reacting with outsized alarm to some of his standard progressive foreign policy positions.

Over the last eight months, I've sadly had to deal with a certain kind of person. They're in DC, they think they're political geniuses, and they view us up in Maine as a malleable mass to be manipulated, messaged to, and tricked. And their time is over.

I want everybody defending Hasan Piker to see the moment he shocks his dog simply for standing up. This is the cruelty he owns. It's not just what he says, but also what he does.

Centrists: ‘It’s us or Hasan’ Voters, without thinking: ‘Hasan’ Centrists: ‘This debate is pointless. Who even cares about Hasan, really?’

I just don't think there's a whole lot of appetite among Democratic voters to be nagged and wokescolded by a GOP lobbyist using quotes that she herself admits were taken out of context when they aren't simply 100% true. 🥴

David Hogg's Leaders We Deserve PAC deploys its first independent expenditures in the #CA22 race, dropping $45K on direct mail supporting progressive Randy Villegas, who is up against DCCC-recruited moderate Asm. Jasmeet Bains for the chance to take on Republican David Valadao

"I could think of 1000 other things I would rather Democrats pick fights about now. Like, why him right now?" "Because he's making their life harder." @Timodc and @SarahLongwell25 spar over one of the biggest questions facing Democrats right now: what to do about Hasan Piker?

This is The Bulwark. We don’t all think one thing! I think Tim is wrong on Hasan Piker, so we hashed it out. Listen to us work through it in a format much more conducive to a productive discussion than Twitter dunks.
