No, you’re misunderstanding the fundamental point. It wasn’t just campaigning with Liz Cheney. It was branding Harris as a war hawk. That is what was stupid and harmful. Cheney was just one part of that harmful strategy. Swing state voters are extremely antiwar.
Sarah Ironside 💙@SarahIronside6

Progressives are so close to the point to keep missing it. If campaigning with Liz Cheney harmed the party because of her trash positions, campaigning with Hasan Piker will do the same!

@InkandLearn @thenbggh @carly_dani_ I didn’t change my argument - that is the truth, there were more progressive candidates in both races. Also, Stratton raised progressive policy positions late in the campaign.

@Jennyil @thenbggh @carly_dani_ Biss has said he's a Progressive, Stratton was also running on progressive policies, you're bad faith to change your argument to "They aren't even the most progressive...."

@thenbggh @carly_dani_ Biss was not the second most progressive candidate in that race. He was also in the top 3 through most of the campaign but not consistently the favorite.

@Jennyil @carly_dani_ Stratton was the only person polling high enough to be a real progressive option hence why she got the progressive endorsement. And of the candidates in the congressional race with a chance bliss was the favorite and second most progressive option.

@thenbggh @carly_dani_ Stratton got most of her campaign funding and PAC support from Pritzker and his allied PACs. She started her campaign running on fighting for children in Congress and only started messaging about ICE and M4All at the very end. Kelly has been a more consistent progressive.

@M3Writer @trouble_man90 @wideofthepost The original post had nothing to do with what she was doing before she ran for Senate - it had to do with her start in politics. It said so in plain English - which you are clearly incapable of understanding.

@Jennyil @trouble_man90 @wideofthepost Wait…her being a centrist Blue Dog Democrat in the House RIGHT BEFORE she was recruited by Chuck Schumer to run fo Senate is “not relevant” to her being a centrist ratfuxker in Senate?! Hillary also got her start in GOP, but I don’t think that was relevant to her Sebate run.

@SER1897 @Tyler_A_Harper Why would a DEM campaign put effort into reaching young white men instead of investing in outreach to Millennials? There are more millennials than any other generation, they show up to vote, and they tend to support DEMs.

I think @Tyler_A_Harper has touched on this. It’s an almost deliberate blindspot among mainstream Dems, who fundamentally don’t want to do what is necessary to reach those types of voters (esp young white men). They would rather listen to Sarah Longwell.
Aaron Regunberg@AaronRegunberg

The average swing voter dislikes both parties, is mad about elite impunity, opposes dumb wars, and is concerned about AI. That’s 1000% closer to Hasan than the average Third Way freak shilling for Big Tech and cheering on the national security blob.

@M3Writer @trouble_man90 @wideofthepost I know all the facts about her. You are arguing against a true statement - that said that she got her start in politics with the Green Party. Nothing else that you have had to say is relevant. It just makes it clear you don’t understand English.

@Jennyil @trouble_man90 @wideofthepost Yes, that’s not in dispute. But at the time she was recruited to run for Senate she was a centrist Blue Dog Democrat in the House. Warren was once a Republican, doesn’t mean she wants a Democrats when she ran for Senate. You just wanna “yada yada” facts about Sinema.

@M3Writer @trouble_man90 @wideofthepost You clearly have problems with basic English comprehension - the statement was about where she came from - not how she ended up running for US Senate. She got her start in politics as a member of the Green Party, that is where she came from.

@Jennyil @trouble_man90 @wideofthepost She was recruited as a House Member by Schumer and she was in the “BlueDog Democrat” caucus. Just because she was “green” before doesn’t mean she wasn’t establishment centrist when she was recruited by another establishment centrist (Schumer). She was an establishment pick.

@Needle_of_Arya @ChaseMadar I think the best answer is just to ignore anyone talking about this race. Reputable polls still show Maine SEN as safe R in November - even as they are predicting enough DEM pick ups for their to be safe D majorities in both the House and Senate.

@trouble_man90 @wideofthepost It disputes that she was “from the left.” Yes, she was once a Green Party, but my time Schumer recruited her she was a “BlueDog Democrat” in the House. Literally the most centrist of centrist caucus. So you’re either wrong or lying. Which is it, Timmy?

Biden was handed the nomination in a rigged primary. He beat Trump in a year any Democrat would have won. He was such a disappointment, giving us four more years of right wing policies, that neither he nor his VP could win in 2024. Running centrists is bad strategy & bad policy.
Neera Tanden🌻@neeratanden

It's odd how people just memory holes that Joe Biden was the most moderate candidate running in the 2020 primary, won the primary and then beat Trump. Talarico was supported by plenty of moderates in the primary. He's not running as an unapoletic leftist in Texas.

@SER1897 You sound defensive. Sinema got her start in the Green Party and spent time as one of the most liberal members of the AZ legislature. She moved right during her legislative career but didn’t start out aligned with Manchin.

"Sinema was a Green Party member so of COURSE she went evil" is also flat-out deranged. She was in alignment with *Manchin* and buddy-buddy with Republicans. She was recruited by Schumer. Deedra Abboud was the far-left candidate.

This is a flat-out lie. Fetterman was *everyone's* choice. He won the primary by more than double digits. It's just absurd when mainstream Dems suggest that Lamb's poor showing reflects the entirety of centrist/mod voters. I doubt PA mods/con Dems were voting for Kenyatta!

Fetterman was the leftist choice and Sinema came from the Green Party. They are both creatures from the far left and they were both a disaster. You morons have an abysmal track record.
