@itskyleconner That’s what happens when a company drops the sensor fusion approach. Xpeng will be the next company after Tesla to figure out unsupervised self driving at scale. It is sad to see China stuck on v13 due to the new regulations/restrictions in China.

So the best Level 2 Point-to-Point system I’ve used is still FSD v14 However that’s not available in China (they’re stuck on v13) XPeng VLA 2.0 is very good, even if it got off to a rocky start - it has a unique character, very smooth and slow, just meanders its way nicely through traffic. Stay tuned for my upcoming video on Momenta (what the Germans are using) - that was a HUGE surprise!

@Deandawiz I don’t think v14 Lite will do this, but cars that get the retrofit should have this effect. v12.6 is already in a similar position to where v14 Lite will be, because people want want the best FSD, so they will complain about v14 Lite when they see comparisons to v14.

v14 lite will make u want a HW3 car. it will probably be really hard to find a used one if v14 lite goes viral.

@TeX64AI My issues are not with transferring over LaTeX. My issues are with not properly minimizing white space when I ask it to and creating circuit diagrams in LaTeX correctly. A lot of the time it is great. I don’t use macOS, I use Fedora. I also refuse to support any other LLM.

@CVincente19 Same root cause across Python-PDF and Grok→Overleaf flows: the LLM never reads the compile log, so a missing brace or wrong package compounds. Iterating in an editor where the model sees errors directly avoids that. (TeX64 on Mac does this: tex64.com)

I notice that Grok 4.3(beta) doesn’t follow my project instructions as well as the fast and expert models. I like that 4.3 can now make PDFs using Python, which is super cool, although it has similar issues to Grok making documents with LaTeX code and pasting it into Overleaf.

The California Coastal Commission has issued a formal apology to @elonmusk and SpaceX, adding that it will not consider political views or speech in future regulatory decisions. • The Commission admits some officials made politically biased and improper statements about SpaceX and Elon Musk • It formally apologizes for those remarks • Agrees it will not consider political views or speech in future regulatory decisions • The Commission will NOT require coastal permits for most launch operations at Vandenberg Full statement: "The Commission agrees that it may not consider irrelevant factors in performing its function and specifically agrees that it will not take into account the perceived political beliefs, political speech, or labor practices of SpaceX or its officers in considering any regulatory action concerning SpaceX. The Commission acknowledges that Commissioners made statements, including during their October 10, 2024, hearing on the Base’s Falcon 9 launch program, that showed political bias against SpaceX and its CEO and were improper. The Commission apologizes for those statements, as set forth in the signed letter attached as Exhibit C." This filing means that SpaceX and the California Coastal Commission have reached a settlement in their federal lawsuit, and it provides long-term regulatory clarity for SpaceX for future Falcon 9 launches.

Elon during the Q1 2026 earnings call: "When we've unveiled various Optimus versions, we've found out our competitors literally do a frame-by-frame analysis and copy everything we're doing." Exhibit A. Xiaomi's Cyber One V2, revealed today, next to Tesla's Optimus Gen 2 - which dropped back in December 2023. This is what Tesla is up against. Not just competing - being studied, copied, and repackaged. And yet Tesla is still so far ahead that the best anyone else can do is imitate what they were doing two years ago.

@JCChristopher I know Europe has v14 with speed control, so it is a possibility. I'm hoping older cars get the same treatment, since they aren't as relevant for unsupervised driving without the hardware upgrade. If they do, they must add speed profiles for city streets.

Oh and generally I get better responses from expert compared to 4.3(beta) across most topics I’ve tested.

I wish there was a 0.75x speed for reading as 0.5x feels too slow and 1x feels to fast at times. I would also like to see consistency between the app, website, and X. I wish I could access projects on the app.

@OverlyTrev The best charging is no charging. If you can hail a robotaxi within a minute at any land-based location and the car handles all charging with no human input—and can quickly swap with another robotaxi during longer trips—charging becomes irrelevant to the passenger.

@OverlyTrev BYD's approach is more tailored to the average person currently buying vehicles for personal use, transitioning from combustion vehicles. New adopters tend to have a mindset based on what they currently do, not on how the vehicles are actually used.

Time for a Poll: What matters more for EV adoption? Please vote and write your own explanation below, I want to see what everyone thinks! Don’t forget: BYD has the “Gen 2 Blade LFP cell” that can get you from 10-80% in ONLY 9 minutes 🙄

Following future rollout of FSD V14 Lite for HW3 vehicles in the US, we plan on expanding V14 Lite to additional international markets. This update ensures that HW3 vehicle owners will continue to benefit from ongoing software updates. Since international rollout is subject to several factors (completion of technical verification, regional adaptation & relevant regulatory approvals), we can't provide definitive dates at the moment, but will provide updates on a rolling basis

@itskyleconner I think the biggest barrier to getting this technology in America is regulations, because import restrictions or tariffs/taxes relating to China, and mass manufacturing these components without China, takes time and may not be feasible for most of our companies.

So y’all have probably seen the BYD crazy charging claims shown at MFR demos etc I went to a random dealership, found a crashed car, and plugged it in to see what happened More importantly is that the Gen 2 Blade LFP cell that will power every BYD EV is capable of this charging time. This means even the cheapest BYD car will charge just as fast as their top models, and they’ll all reach full in under 10 minutes. 🤯 So, while companies are still launching cars with 10-80% times in the 30 minute range, a little BYD Dolphin will soon do it in around 6 minutes. Go ahead, tell me again how slow charging EVs are acceptable? ⚡️ ⚡️
